Day 5: Cruising Cozumel

We switched ports overnight
But continue our stint in Mexico
Just down the beach from where we were in April—
Hola, Cozumel!

We rented a catamaran today for just the 12 of us

And we were determined to live it up

And how about this weather?

We had to take some pictures

Not sure what this one is all about

We were sailing to our snorkeling spot

And enjoying the sea, the breeze,

And the company

Of course, we needed a family picture

We forgot our water sleeve for the snorkeling
So you’ll have to take our word for it—
It was great.
Lots of fish, a few turtles, a few sea stars…
Definitely made us work up an appetite for lunch!

We eventually settled at this enormous sand bar
Where we planned to spend the afternoon swimming

And maybe a bit more snorkeling!

Lovely, right?
But do you see the grey smudge in the lower right-hand corner?

Yep,
That would be a stingray.

They were EVERYWHERE!

At first, we jumped out of the water
Whenever they swam past

But then,
They were coming by so often,
We got used to them
And they were apparently used to us

How about this for a party pic??

It was a glorious day

Pappo even felt compelled to bring out
His best shirt for this!

Eventually,
It was time to sail home

We soaked in every minute

Of this great day

Our new BFF, Antonio, the manager of the dining room,
Said we could be a little late to dinner.
So we took him up on it!
After a dip in the pool/hot tub,
We eventually made it to dinner.
We made sure to make a big mess
For Prakash and his magic crumb scraper to clean up

Prakash introduced us to his buddy Yogi
Who is an amateur balloon artist.
This gun doesn’t look very amateur!

We grabbed our evening drink at Rye and Bean
(They know our names now!)

And chilled out in our pod for a bit

Before heading to the kids’ dodgeball competition

Beck wore the wrong shoes and didn’t want to change
So Tuck carried the Reed name,
Earning a 3rd place medal with his team
Our show of the night was Showband—
A concert with the Icon Symphonic Orchestra.

Then we listened to some jazz and dueling pianos
Before calling it a night.

Another packed day!
Whew—we might need a breather tomorrow!
