Jackism

Jack as been potty training since December and day-time dry since February or so. No pull-up at nap anymore, and we may be getting close to dry overnight as well. As an incentive (to control what he can), if he wakes up dry, he gets a treat. So far he's earned a trip to Bass Pro, a "Sonic drink" (a cherry limeade), a trip to "Miss Lauren's pool" (Summit Waves), and an ice cream from the ice cream man. (He's had 6 or 7 dry nights, 4 of those now in a row).

Today, the ice cream man finally came by (we haven't seen him in a week or so). Jack and I ran outside as soon as we heard his song and bell. But much to our dismay he flew down the street (seriously, probably going 40mph). We thought maybe he'd circle back since we could hear his song driving though the neighborhood, but alas, we saw him speed out of the back of our edition. Jack looked so sad, it broke my heart.

As we sat back down to finish dinner, he seriously looked at Aaron and said, "Maybe somebody else had a dry pull-up and he had to go give them ice cream. Maybe he'll come back tomorrow for me."

Maybe so, Jack. Maybe so. And if not, I'm going to buy HyVee out of ice cream just to erase that sad look on your face. You deserve ice cream too!

Jackism

I'm so behind on my posts. There have been several hilarious things he has said in the last month, but I can't remember a lot of them. I've got to start putting them up as soon as he says them.

Jack is in charge of setting the silverwear on the table. He's pretty good at it. When Dad took a turn...
Jack: "Daddy, you did a pretty good job at setting out the forks, but..."
Dad: "But?"
Jack: "...but I would like the baby fork instead."
He then proceded to reset his place with a baby fork and spoon.

Jack's new 'do

Check out what I can do with my new haircut.

Spikes! Cool!

Haircuts are easy

Time to get a haircut again!

I sit all by myself now.

Mom, get my lollipop and wait in the chairs; I'll be done in a minute!

Pi?

Dad, Jack and I have lots of "boys nights" where its just us guys.
Usually it's because Mom is on call at the hospital.
Today though, it was because Mom went to CoMo to have a reunion with some of her ADPi sisters.

Mom said it was awesome.
They went to Shakespears for pizza, Trops for drinks, Sophia's for dinner, and Bengals' for drinks.
Mom said there was lots of kickin' back with old friends.
She needed some fun!
She said next year it's going to be at the lake.
Maybe it can be a "boys and girls night" next time?

Can we go to the pool???

Huh, huh? Can we?

Hanging out with my boys and my future bride, Mikayla.

Don't mock my muffin top!
I've done a lot of eating to earn that!

I'm seriously adorable.

Thanks for taking me to the pool, Mom and Dad!

We are so cute!

Mom had some random pictures of us around the house...

What's wrong with this picture?
I'll give you a hint--I dressed myself.
You mean one leg goes in each hole of the underwear, not both in the same?
My bad.

Jack-in-a-box

Making Weston laugh
I LOVE watching my big brother!

I think I could get that bird if I really tried...

Both of us getting some tummy time

All this work!
I need a break.

Poor Monti!!!

When we got back from the lake, Monti moped around the house for a few days like she usually does, catching up on sleep. But this time, she moped longer than usual. On Friday morning, we found her sitting, staring at the wall. When Mom got down to see her, we discovered her eyes had filled with blood ("bilateral hyphemas and uveitis" according to Mom.) And the worst part was that she couldn't see. Our poor dog was blind.
Well, after several visits to the vet and a doggie ophthalmologist and lots of medication and time (1 week or so), Monti got her vision back. Both retinas are partially detached, so we are hopeful they will re-attach and not cause her any more problems. We still don't know what happened. The think some sort of infection, but we'll probably never know.
Here's hoping and praying she doesn't lose her sight again.
That was awful.

The Fourth at the Lake

As is tradition, we headed to Truman to celebrate Independence Day.

We had all sorts of fun!

We saw some buffalo...

...and did lots of fireworks.

Grandma helped me with my first "sprinkler" (sparkler).

Then we did lots of artillery shells, fountains, and rockets.
It was awfully loud.

Much better!

We had to visit the Cheese Factory!

Say "cheese" Weston!

And of course, there was LOTS of swimming.

Here's me and Chelsea on my favorite waverunner.

Wes slept.
Guess he'll waverunner next year.

Here we are, all set up.
Mom says we are pretty WT.

Yep, those are chairs in the water.

I make this look good!

Did I mention how much I love the waverunner?

And then we set off even more fireworks.
Happy 4th everyone!

Legacy Fireworks

We had all the Reeds over tonight to watch the Legacy Lee's Summit fireworks.

Dad helped Austin and I shoot off a few of our own
(don't worry, just snakes and poppers)

Then the real show began.
They were beautiful, but really loud.
I enjoyed them much more once I put on Dad's ear muffs!
