Halloween and more Halloween

We've been excited for Halloween for weeks...
and it's finally here!

It was a day filled with parties and fun.

Jack's class had a parade,
played some games

ate some Witch's brew
(pudding with mix-ins)

and played a trick on Mrs. Burbee.
She made a pretty good mummy!

I'd say everyone had a pretty great time!

At Weston's school,
they had a parade

 played some games

and had a snack

I'm sensing a theme here...

After all the fun at school,
Grandma J and Water Bear
brought over a pumpkin pizza
and then headed out to trick or treat with us

 The obligatory porch picture

Jack and West weren't sure which was more fun,
getting the candy...

...or giving it out

We all looked pretty great in our costumes:
Jackson the doctor

 Batman West

And little tiger me

Everyone agreed that EATING the candy
was the high of the night

How many pieces can we have???

Happy Halloween everyone!

The Reed Family Rock

I'm learning all about the 7 habits at school.
Put first things first is a big one.
That means put important things as top priority.
Family is a "first thing" and a "rock" in our lives.

All the Highland Park families are decorating rocks
to symbolize the "rocks" we are putting first
to line the walkway at school so we can remember this important habit.

I think ours turned out AWESOME!

Pirates and spooks and spiders, oh my!

Get your scooping spoons and sharp knives ready...
it's pumpkin carving time!

I REALLY wanted to do one all by myself...
I started by tracing the pattern

Dad and West went freestyle

Their pirate was pretty great

Beck and Mom made a spooky face

Mine...
well, it took 2 nights to finish.
And Dad may have done most of the carving in the end.

We were pretty proud!

Do you see mine?
Gotta love a scary spider!

Boos at the Barn

Did you know Deanna Rose has a Halloween party?
We just found out too!
Austin and Mikayla invited us.

It's was so different in the dark!
We went on a hayride,
roasted marshmallows,
and went to a dance party.

There was also a pirate boat race

and spooky trails to walk on...
Kayla hitched a ride

Of course we milked the cows

and watched a riveting movie about
where milk comes from

We had fun showing Beckett all the activities

A big favorite was the marshmallow gun

We all had a turn

It was spooky fun!

Weston's day off

Dad stays home with Beckett 2 days a week now.
And every once in a while,
I get to stay home too!

Bonus today--Mom stayed home with us!

We hit up Starbuck for a hot chocolate...

before we met up with Kayla and Austin at Paradise Park

The theme today was leaevs.
The story was pretty good.

The craft was better

Check it out!

But the snack was the best
Mmm, cookies!

Before long, it was time to head home to put B
down for a nap
(or did B need to put Dad down for a nap?
He is offering a pacifier!)
It's good to play hooky from preschool every once in a while!

Fall finale

It's been a great fall soccer season!
The fans were pleased with my teams' showing

My ball handling skills continue to improve

And I even got a goal in our final game!

We had our team party at Orange Leaf

Weston enjoyed the yogurt

Beckett enjoyed the spoons

I was excited to accept my trophy from Coach Jeanna

And really excited to show it off
Another fun soccer season comes to a close...
what's next?
