This must be our 6th or 7th Night Flight 5K.
This year there were only 4 of us—
Weston was at a poker party and Jack was busy with robotics—
But that didn’t stop us from entering the race
We had lofty goals this year—
Tucker wanted to actually run the ENTIRE course
(Since he got lost last time and accidentally cut off 1/2 of the race)
And Beckett wants to actually RUN the entire course
(Because he had to walk over half of it last time).
We started off pretty fast…
But not fast enough for Tucker.
He took OFF.
We figured we’d fun into him again at some point
(No way he can keep up that pace!)
But we didn’t!
We ROCKED it!
Tucker came in 42nd out of nearly 300
And the rest of us were 49th, 50th, and 51st.
But it gets better!
Tucker was 2nd in his 12 and under age group with a time of 24:37.34.
Beckett was 4th at 25:34.02.
Dad took 3rd in the 45-49 men’s group (25:31.84)
And Mom was 1st in her group and the 3rd woman overall (25:51.65)
The medals were great but THEN
We discovered there was all-you-can-eat Andy’s custard at the end.
Definitely worth the run!
Our most successful Night Flight yet!
We may have to take on a few more 5K’s this year…
