Mom's Big Workshop

Mom was asked by an emergency room doc friend
of hers to help with a debriefing workshop
at a big conference this year.
After hearing it was in Baltimore
and that Dad could tag along,
she took him up on it!

The workshop took a lot more work
than she had anticipated,
but in the end, it all came off
without a hitch
(it's the one on top--
"Post-Event Debriefing to Improve Care")

She went to some lectures and workshops,
did some networking with friends,
supported her colleagues in their presentations...

and spent some quality time with Dad.
They had lasagna in Little Italy,
a little coffee and napoleon at
a little bakery

and, of course,
had crabs.
They accidentally ordered the wrong thing--
the cold seafood platter
instead of steamed crabs--
but with some buckets of beers,
out on the dock,
listening to a pretty good band,
it couldn't have been bad!
Cheers, Baltimore!
Thanks for a great weekend!

A birthday for B-doh

I celebrated with my friends
Mom asked if I wanted my present from them
then, but somehow, I had the foresight
to tell them I wanted to wait.

I woke up to a house covered in
birthday signs from my brothers
and 2 giant bags waiting for me

Minecraft sheets, blanket
and my own creeper?
Yep, worth the wait.

After our THIRD Jack Stack birthday dinner
in 4 weeks,
we headed to Custard's
for my birthday dessert.

Sharing a private joke
with my brother...

Happy #6 to me!

Return to Cavalcade

Mom and Dad say
their first Cavalcade
is a concert they'll never forget.
Hopefully, I'll feel the same!

Meemaw was disappointed
not to hear Tijuana Taxi and
Honeyrock Flapjacks
for the 9th time
(yep, do the math!)
but the program promised a good show

Ready to go

Lots of fantastic trombone prowess

My adoring fans
were impressed

Oh, and of course,
there was an ice cream celebration.
I have to admit,
band is sort of growing on me

Easter fun, fun, fun!

I have lots of "top 3" or "3 favorites" lists.
Holiday?
#1 Christmas,
#2 Easter,
#3 Halloween.
At least until 4th of July or Thanksgiving come around.

So you can imagine,
I was pretty excited this morning
to get to the hunt.

We took a nice boys picture

and headed to the basement
to see what the bunny left us

Mom and Dad let
Beck and Tuck
get a head start

then finally Jack and I got to go

It was a heck of a haul!
Lego filled eggs, quarters, pullback trucks,
goldfish, chocolates...

But what we really couldn't wait for
was the scavenger hunt

We found bike spoke lights

We got led on a wild chase
outside this year...

and found kites

And sunglasses and silipints

And of course, our baskets
(hidden in the garage)

Then we headed out to breakfast
with Meemaw

and Grandpa

Fun people

and tasty eats

And THEN we headed to Grandma P
and Papa Kim's house.

We got some huge pool noodles

Fun in the pool AND in the living room

But the highlight?
The egg hunt!

They were EVERYWHERE!

We moved fast

and grabbed everything
we could carry

Another Happy Easter

with some really great people

Becoming fish

Ok, compared to my last several attempts
at swim lessons,
I rocked this round.

For the most part,
I got in when I was supposed to

I listened

I bobbed and floated

And Beckett?
He REALLY rocked it.
We was on the other end,
so pictures were tricky.
He was also underwater
and all over the pool,
making pictures tricky too.

We were pumped when our final class
ended early and we got to swim
a bit in the splash zone

Check it out!
Beckett passed Level 3--
his teacher said he was the youngest pass
she'd ever had.
Guess he's ready for Waves!!
As for me,
Mom considered this a HUGE pseudo-pass
(but I'm calling it a pass and
I won't be dissuaded.)

Field trippin'

I was SO EXCITED
for my first school field trip.
Today, we headed to Kaleidoscope

My friend Mason was excited

Silly faces from the girls in our group too

We're here!
What do you see???

We watched a few short cartoons
from Hallmark,
and then they turned us loose...

We did some glow-in-the-dark painting

Made a birthday hat
(it's Kaleidoscope's 50th birthday!)

There were some really cool crowns
with stickers and ribbons and markers...

What do you think?

And of course,
I made an infamous crown puzzle

We hit Lunch Land

and climbed back on the bus
for an exhausted ride home
filled with more silly faces
Day well spent
