Tucker and his friends

Joined the Broncobots for camp this week.

His friends were partnered up on a team

Which left Tucker on his own…

So he met Frank

And together, they became The Nanners

They worked hard on their bot all week

And the day of competition finally arrived

And guess what?

The Nanners won the whole thing!

Whoa.

The Oranje March

The Netherlands are playing in KC today,

Which means the Netherlands are MARCHING today

Thousands of people dressed in orange

Walked from P&L to Fan Fest

To rally up for today’s game.

Mom had to work,

But she and her residents found a nice spot

Waaaay up high to get a peek at the fun

And look who made the journey down to join in???

It’s fun to get swept up in the

World Cup hype! 

A Waves Montage

We’ve been hard at work in the pool

The last three weeks,

Working to cut some time.

For Tucker,

He bravely swam 50 fly once,

Coming in at 51.81s.

He tried out backstroke once too,

With a time of 48.57s.

Somehow we missed a picture of breaststroke,

His fave.

No new PR since the first meet, but he keeps working it.

In Free, 

He set his new PR of 35.56 

His big event lately has been the IM,

Swimming it every week. 

His current PR is 1:36.63 

(he came in 1st with that one)

He’s been working on his backstroke

But hasn’t quite been able to shave time from the first meet

Breast is still his favorite

He braved fly once with Tuck

Like Tucker, 

He’s really been working hard on his IM

With a current PR of 1:19.08

For some reason,

We only have pictures of Weston swimming breast…

But he has a recent PR in free at 1:02.96

And a new PR in breast

At 38.56s

But no new PR in back…

Maybe in the next few weeks

No PR,

But he did get 1st in his heat

Like Beck!

Jackson has shaved some time too—

He’s got a new PR in free

At 1:02.39

No new PR in back or breast

But he’s embracing fly

He’s swimming as far as possible underwater

Before surfacing for a few strokes,

Doing his turn,

And repeating the effort the last 25yards

He set a new PR!

34.19 is his current best

He tried out the IM too,

Latest PR 1:16.00.

Nice job guys!

Celebrating the Dads

He does a lot for us,

So the least we can do

Spend one day celebrating him

Actually,

We celebrating him twice!

We celebrated the granddads too

With some whisky and cherries

(Dad forgot to get a picture with us and Papa Kim—

We’ll let it slide.

Lake time!

We got rained out over Memorial Day

So we were PSYCHED to finally get on the water this weekend

Ranger was pretty excited too

We went all out,

Trying out our new kayak

And getting in some tubing time

Hello, summer!

 

The GOATs Return

Despite being just a smidge over the grade-level limit,

The GOATs were allowed to return to the Broncobots Camp

To claim the win that eluded them last year

This year was a “bake off” of sorts

And Beck, Colby and Grant were pretty confident in their robot

And apparently for good reason

They won every match in the elimination rounds,

Winning the final in 2 rounds

(The third wasn’t needed!)

Fan Fest or Bust

With Kansas City being a host city for the World Cup,

We were PUMPED to go see what the FIFA Fan Fest is all about.

We grabbed the bus from Lee’s Summit

(And were nearly the only people on the bus)

But we weren’t the only people headed to Fan Fest!

It’s the first Argentina game tonight—

The crowd started gathering early

Mom tried to join us from work

But they wouldn’t let her come in with her purse…

So we headed to Teocali’s roof to watch the came

And have a much cheaper dinner.

It was a delightful place to hang out!

Mom got called in

(Delivery duty calls!)

But we stayed to watch Messi get his hat trick

And cheer on their win.

The World Cup excitement

Is definitely contagious!
