A Tulsa Wedding

Mom's cousin Brad is getting married today!
We took a road trip to Oklahoma
to join all the family in the celebration.

Mom and Dad got us a room
at the Hard Rock in Tulsa.
We used the afternoon to check it out a bit.
We walked through the casino
(much to Jackson's anxiety and embarrassment)
with strict instructions to not touch anything
so we could make it over to Toby Keith's
for lunch

Then we headed back through the casino
(Jackson shrinking all the way)
to grab our room key,
take a quick family pic
and head up to get ready

Grandpa chartered the entire
Hard Rock shuttle
to take us out to the barn
for the wedding
(which appeared to be in the middle of nowhere)

But, wow,
was it worth the drive!

The lighting was PERFECT
for a whole bunch of pictures

After the wedding
and some food in our bellies,
it was time for the frivolity to begin.

There was spoon balancing

Some crazy party pics

and, of course,
a lot of dancing

 After a sparkler send-off
(which we weren't able to get on film--
there was a lot of chaos
in getting 100 sparklers lit
and one lady nearly unintentionally
sparked off a sparkler bomb
by lighting 50 of them in her hand
and one time...),
we grabbed our shuttle
back to the hotel.

The party didn't stop there.
Everyone changed into more comfortable clothes
(Uncle Steve and I happen to match in ours!)
and the adults headed to the tables

while we had a room party
with Grandma
complete with a whole lotta junk
from the gift shop.
Our 24 hours in Tulsa
definitely didn't disappoint.

Oh, and congrats
Brad and Tamara
from all of us!

Thanksgiving fun

What do we love more than turkey?
Turkey cookies!

We all got to work

Everyone had their own plan

Here's B's unicorn turkey

and my...well...corny turkey?

Food, family, and memories--
that's what it's all about!

The Modified Turkey Run

Mom has seen the ads for Turkey Runs
all over KC for the last few years
and always talks about doing one.
But the weather is usually gross
and this year, she had to work.

What she REALLY wants
is a good reason to run on Thanksgiving
AND a cool sweatshirt to "earn" in the process.

So she and Grandma P hatched a plan.

Onto the treadmill we go...

Some more willing than others

And now???
Where's our swag?

Oh, yeah!

That was worth a 5K.
Not pictured: Mom and Dad in their
hard-earned shirts too.

Bring on the turkey!

Christmas in the Sky

We LOVE traditions.
This one is a special favorite.
Load up the truck,
find a good spot,
walk to get hot chocolate,
and settle in to watch Rudolph
while we wait...

The truck gave us a good seat for the show!

Yes!

Fireworks and Christmas music...
Definitely a favorite event.

What's a Pogo Pass?

Mom saw this Groupon
that gets you into all these activities around KC.
Museums, sports events, climbing gyms...
sounds like our kind of pass!

So today,
we put it to good use.
First up:
The National Frontier Trails Museum.

It was all about
Westward Expansion
and the journey of the settlers

There were all sorts of things to touch
and read

We could even attempt to pack a wagon

There was a lot of stuff we needed to take
and not a lot of room

Yay, history!

After all that brain work,
we needed some exercise.
Guess what else is on the pass?
Sky Zone!
We didn't take a ton of pictures at this one...
we were too busy jumping.

2 places down,
16 to go!

Special Friends Day

Grandma and Mema
came to school
bright and early this morning
to have some donuts and
listen to us sing

We even got Grandpa out of bed!
We must be special!
Papa Kim is with Austin and Kayla this morning--
we'll have to show him the video replay...

Everyone ready to sing?

Let's do this!

I was first up...

We sang "Under the Sea."

Next was Wes

with "Try Everything"
from Zootopia

Jack's 6th grade class

sang "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious"

and the Howling Huskies finale
was "Hakuna Matata"
It was a Disney theme--
could you tell?

Thanks for coming everyone!
