BIG TRUCKS!!!

Tonight may have been my perfect night.

First, we had dinner at Taco Bell.
I had 2 tacos.

Then,
we went to Big Truck Night with MODOT...
I was SOOO excited!
I told my whole preschool class about
the "big trucks" and "diggers" we were going to see.

Jack was taking it all in.
He was pretty excited too.

Taking a break in a tractor wheel

Let the driving begin!
We "drove" 2 tractors

A tank truck

A rotograter
and several other I can't remember the name of.

There was a lot to do!

Fire trucks and ambulances to climb on

And even a road saw

Did I mention Grandma Janice was there too?
Throw in a trip to Orange Leaf,
and it was about as close to heaven as a 2 year old can get!

Mr. Stinky Feet at the Kaufmann Center

We headed out to see one of our favorite singers
Mr. Stinky Feet
with a few friends...

The Vannamans!
Our friends from "the other side of the Earf (earth)"
Kylie went to med school with Mom
and they have been living in New Zealand the last few years
so she could work down there.
And now they are back!
We're thrilled.

We weren't allowed to take pictures in the concert
(it distracted the KC Symphony),
but Mom snuck this one:
Mr. Stinky Feet is the guy in the colorful shirt in the middle there.

It was a pretty fun concert.
He sang a lot of our favorite songs--
"What Color is Your Minivan?" and "Stinky Feet"--
and the orchestra played along.

I'm not sure which was better--
Mr. Stinky Feet or the Symphony!

And did I mention we were in the front row of the choral loft??!?!!
They were pretty great seats.
And a pretty great theater!

Let's go fly a kite!

It's time for the annual Kite Show!

Nothing better than a picnic in the sun
watching the colorful kites!

The view is even better from up here!

Kayla, Jack, and Aus
waiting patiently for the...

BOUNCE HOUSE!

Jack was quick up the wall

I'm not sure I can scale this yet!

Everyone is out and bouncing...
except me!

Thanks goodness
Jack came back to help me over this big hump!

Grandma Janice helped us make kites

Jack got his up!

Look at Austin's fly!

Go Kayla!

Mine,
hmmm.
Not so much.

 Jack and Grandma,
taking it all in

What a nice day!!!

Jack's first soccer practice

This year,
I was big enough to start a sport.
Today was my first soccer practice!
And my cousin Austin is on my team!!!

It's important to stretch

And jog a bit to get warmed up

Then it was off to the drills--
Dribbling
(I was really good at this one)

Shooting goals

Check out that one flying to the back of the goal!

Stopping the ball
(Papa Kim had some good pointers)

Goal tending

Nothing's getting past this guy!

Austin had some moves too

Weston was disappointed he was too little to play,
so he found a different ball to play with
(a golf ball)
Stay tuned for next week--
we start SCRIMMAGES!
(whatever that is)

Weston's spots

Ever wonder what REALLY bad hand-foot-mouth disease looks like?
Then check out Weston...

Hands:

Feet:

and mouth, err, Legs:

Poor Wes!
His mouth seems to have been relatively spared,
but his eyes, ears, arms, legs, hands and feet are definitely not.
It is one of the worst cases his pediatrician or mom has seen.
Apparently its running wild in KC right now.
Glad to be a part of the fun.

Weston's Tractor Party

Finally,
after much waiting,
the day of my 2nd birthday party arrived!

And guess what the theme was?
TRACTORS!!!
My FAVORITE!

Of course Aunt Mandy and Daddy were there

And my cousins and Jack

In fact, EVERYONE came!
Grandparents, great grandparents, godparents...
I am loved.

After a few tacos, chips, and cheese...

Mika REALLY liked the cheese...

...we opened presents!

I got a John Deere pillowcase to go with my big boy room theme

and a name train

 A digger shirt
and a bunch of other great gifts...
Thanks everyone!

Then, it was time for CAKE!

I happily sang "Happy Birthday" with everyone else,
but when it came to the part where you name the birthday person
and everyone said my name,
I was absolutely beaming.

Make a wish!

Everyone dug in

Mmmm, cupcake

Mika thought they were just as good as the cheese

Happy #2, big guy!
