Star of the Seas Day 1: Hitting all our favorites

After over a year countdown,

We boarded the Star today

And could NOT be more excited!

This ship is nearly identical to the Icon,

The ship we loved 2 years ago,

So we knew our way around

And made a beeline for our favorite stops.

We hit the Rye and Bean

For our coffees and a great view

Then to the Lime and Coconut

For some frozen drinks

And Mom’s favorite

Bae at the Beach

Gin and tonic.

We made a fly-by to the rooms

To check out our balconies

And then hit the deck

For a ride on all the waterslides before they got busy.

One more drink

(Getting our money’s worth from the drink package already!)

And then we got all gussied up for dinner

You know,

It’s always a formal affair

Beckett, taking it up a notch

And Thea got in on it too!

Completing their tour of favorite drinks,

We stopped by 1400 for their signature drink

It was a lovely evening

To sit outside

And enjoy the breeze

It’s a lovely night to hang out in one of the cubbies

In the Aquadome too!

It was Kurt’s night to be out and about

So we showed him a good time

We all needed a turn in the bling chair

Looking good!

After the evening show,

We wandered through Central Park

Before settling in Playmakers

For a lot of gaming—

There were arcade games,

Pool,

And even foosball

One last checkbox before bed…

The welcome aboard balloon drop

Nothing screams 

“We’re on vacation!”

Like a balloon drop

Ok, we lied…

We need some pizza

And THEN we’ll go to bed.

10 Star day… ;)

Sooooo excited!

We’ve been counting down for over a year

And the day is finally here.

We’re up bright and early

And in our seats

Headed to…

Florida!

But wait!

This is just the pre-party hotel pool.

We’re headed out there tomorrow…

Went to get their nails done today…

Sounds like we have a vacation coming up!

Memorial Weekend Fun

It’s Mom’s weekend to work

But not until Sunday

So we snuck down to the cabin for a little lake time.

We were all packed up,

Ready to head out in the boat…

When the storms moved in.

Boo.

So we took our fishing party

Down to the Saddle

To try our luck before the rain moved in

There wasn’t much activity

But watching the storm roll in was kinda cool

Even Ranger enjoyed hanging out

The rain eventually chased us to our deck

Where we played games for a bit

But we eventually wandered in town

To the VFW.

There was a lot of pool and shuffleboard

And Pappo thought the adults

Should cap off the night 

With his favorite shot

Oh, Lordy.

Weston stole Mom’s phone

But got some good selfies…

The Council of Coffeewalkers was out early Sunday,

Squeezing in a walk before we headed home.

The spiderwebs were awesome this morning!

Short but sweet;

But we definitely made the most of 36 hours!

 

Goodbye, HPE!

The last day of school.

The last day of elementary school.

The last day at Highland Park.

Complete with the standard “Friday Outfit”

(He’s worn it every Friday for as long as we can remember)

ETMS, here he comes!

Tucker’s HPE Final Soirée

5th Grade Graduation Day is here!

We’re excited for Tucker’s big day

He got his diploma

There was some singing

A little singing…

And a lot of proud family

Minus a few brothers who are at school

His pack of friends

After the ceremony comes the party!

We had some lunch

And then…

The infamous parents vs kids kickball game

It was fun as always

And the parents were victorious…

AGAIN!

We’re undefeated.
