Happy Birthday, Grandma!

It's not every day you turn...
well, we won't say.

But we will say
an ice cream cake was DEFINITELY needed!
Happy Birthday, Grandma Janice!

Shopping

While Dad checked out the Mizzou shirts,
we checked out the Mizzou chairs.

I make this chair look good!

Write this down,
we want one for
birthday, Easter, Christmas...
or just because!

Preparing for our brother

Mom's 24 weeks pregnant now,
so we thought we'd better start getting things ready.

Last week we set up the crib.

This week...painting!

After a brief tutorial from Dad

...we were off!
(Please excuse my lack of clothes--
no clothes = no paint on the clothes)

This is so easy,
I can do it with my hand behind my back

and even on one foot!

We got to do a little with our hands

and even left a little piece of ourselves behind
to tell our brother we love him
and helped paint his room
16 weeks to go!

ANOTHER "Stay-home Day"

We got to stay home AGAIN today
for MLK Day.

Mom and Dad had to work,
so Grandma Janice came back for more fun!

This time,
after breakfast at our favorite IHOP,
we headed to Paradise Park!

We LOVE the foam factory

I really liked playing in the bank this time.
Look at all my gold bars!

Hey!
What's is Wes's hand?
I think I've been robbed!

We built a HUGE tower

And rounded off the day with some time in the padded playroom
When is the NEXT Stay-home Day???

Dancing with Elmo

We skipped school today to see
Sesame Street Live with Grandma!

We've got our Elmo flashlights...

Let the show begin!

We thought it was great.
We told Mom and Dad all about how Elmo stole Abby's wand
and made everyone just keep singing.
It was hilarious.

To top it off,
we headed to "Chick-a-lay" for lunch
and some playgym time.
Now THAT'S how you play hooky!

Jackisms and Westers

Jack and Dad went to the Boat Show on Saturday while Weston and I napped.  Jack was apparently rather chatty and was talking up the pretty cabin cruiser model.  They talked about preschool and the weather.  The conversation turned to the boat, which Cousin Austin and Jack were really excited had an underwater cabin.  She mentioned that there was even a bed and a bathroom in there.  That got Jack really excited..."It's like a boat-el!"  When asked to explain further he said, "You know, like a hotel, but in a boat.  A boat-el!"

The other day, Aaron was helping Wes get dressed.  Aaron wasn't wearing a shirt yet.  Weston leaned back against him and quickly sat up complaining, "Dad, I don't like your grass!" (the hair on his chest). Since then, Weston has come after Aaron with a scalpel and plastic scissors from his doctor's kit as well as a saw from his tool kit stating he was "going to cut Dad's grass."

I took Jack and Weston to the OB with me today.  Jack was very interested in all the different equipment and tests at the office.  He asked about the urine dip sticks, the scale, the blood pressure cuff, etc.  The best part was when Dr. Carter came in.  As you likely know, there is a special light on the OB exam table used during pelvic exams.  Jack inspected it closely and asked what it was for.  Dr. Carter looked a little flustered.  She explained she used it to exam her patients--their throats, their skin... and I added their private parts.  The light was turned so it was lighting up my arm to which Jack said "Well that's weird.  People's private parts aren't all the way up here on their arms!"  This conversation was followed by him examining the cervical brushes used in a pap smear.  He grabbed one and asked what it was for.  Again, poor Dr. Carter stumbled and said they were used in cervical tests.  Jack was completely unflustered and said "Really?  They look like a funny little broom you could wipe off the furniture with" and proceeded to sweep the floor and the chair.  I love that he has no idea any of this should be embarrassing.  Ahhh, the innocence of childhood!

Around the house

We've been taking it easy since Christmas.
Everyone has taken a turn being sick.
But we've managed to find some time to play too!

We made forts with the couch cushions

Can I help you?

Oh!  Allow me to show you my domino rally!

We had cookie cutter pancakes

Always a big hit

 We're feeling better
and looking good!

Uncle Adam's surprise

Uncle Adam turned 30 today!

Aunt Michelle planned a surprise party just for him!
He was pretty touched.

Everyone had a good time

There was food, cake, drinks, music and dancing

And maybe even some hook-ups...
(Cousin Mikayla and her "date" Keegan)

Happy Birthday, Adam!

The year's first snow

Did you know it snowed???
We'd better check it out!

Weston got the diggers out of the toy box

Dad did some serious sled-pulling
'

Mom helped us attempt to build a snowman

Monti basked in the sun

Hooray for New Year's snow!
