Even 7th graders need field trips!

It’s the end of the school year

Which means all the special days and trips.

Beckett’s 7th grade team went to the College Basketball Experience 

For their day out.

Which really means a day

For him to hang out with all his friends

And maybe for the moms to do the same…

 

The boys take Houston (again!)

Broncobots qualified for Worlds for the 3rd time in 4 years

And the Bigs were ecstatic to get to return to Houston

To compete again.

This was one of their strongest robots yet.

AND, Jackson will compete in Impact.

Jazzing for the city

Beckett’s Bison Jazz Band got to play on Green Street

At the LS Jazz Festival.

All the middle schools and high schools were there.

But ETMS

And especially Beckett ;)

Rocked it.

Celebrating our B

Because turning 13 calls for a lot of cakes

A LOT

You only become a teenager once!

And now, there are 3 Reed teens.

Lordy.

A birthday fish fry

Time to clean out the freezer

So Pappo can restock it this summer—

The April and May birthdays are happy to oblige!

Throw in some family time with the 12 of us

And 3 kinds of cake

And that’s definitely a party!

A very belated Mother’s Day

Mom and Aunt Mandy

(Well, mostly Aunt Mandy—she’s got the coolest ideas)

Decided to take Mema glass blowing for Mother’s Day…

In 2025.

It took them a bit to coordinate schedules

But they got it done just in time

Before Mother’s Day 2026 rolled around.

They each made a vase

In matching colors

The blowing was through a tube

So it was a bit more hygienic  

Then there was pulling on the neck to make it swirl

Mom’s turn—

Adding the colors to the glass

A bit of blowing

And the pulling

And then Mema

She was a pro

After watching twice

Nice and easy!

Now a bit of slooooow cooling for a few days

And we’ll see how they turn out!

A Wild Birthday Party

It’s Beckett’s bday party today…

But it’s turning out to be a very crazy day.

The schools all closed early,

Sending students home before a line of severe thunderstorms rolled in.

The guys all gathered a bit early

Before the storms hit.

They were enjoying the trampoline…

When the tornado sirens went off.

To the basement we go!

It was a legit threat—

They even had our street on the radar.

But thankfully,

It all blew over

And they were back to backyard shenanigans 

Like football…

In the pouring rain.

We pushed back the reservation multiple times

Due to the weather

But we eventually landed at Top Golf

The boys had a blast

They weren’t particularly good,

But they had a good time.

Then it was home for cake

(Which apparently fell over

And refroze in the freezer)

The good picture for posterity

They played a lot of games,

Watched some movies,

And actually went to sleep at a semi-reasonable time

So they were pretty peppy for breakfast in the morning 

Happy 11th, Beckett!

 

Well deserved recognition

Broncobots presented their strategy and success

For the school board tonight

To some pretty high praise

Well done, team!

 

Nothing slows him down

Even in the driving rain,

Cheat Code comes through

With touchdown after touchdown

He’s the black streak at the yard line,

Being chased by the ref

With the defense waaaay back there.

You are amazing to watch, Tucker.

Even in the pouring rain.

Broncobots Threepeat

You may be wondering why we came home from Whistler

In the middle of the week.

Because Broncobots are host (and competing) in GKC, baby!

Since they already won the Impact Award,

Jackson got to concentrate on taking pictures

Which didn’t bother him much

The team ROCKED it.

They were the first place team (by a hair)

Making them the First Alliance Captain.

They paired up with Scream

And were UNSTOPPABLE

They won the entire event, 

Nearly doubling their opponents scores in every match

It was a heck of a competition

Scratch that—

It was a heck of a season,

Winning triple blue (1st in all 3 of their competitions)

AND the Impact Award.

Senior Spring Break Day 7: Until next time, Whistler!

It’s been an amazing week

And we are the perfect amount of tired and rejuvenated from this trip.

So we had one last game of chess in the lobby

(Although it was usually Jack and Wes playing…

But Beck gave it a go)

Before hopping on our bus

And heading back to Vancouver to fly home.

Now that we’ve had a taste of ski resort life,

I think we’ll be back!

 

Senior Spring Break Day 6: Making the most of one last day on the slopes

A huge perk to staying in a ski-in/ski-out

Is that you can easily hit the snow just as the gondolas open up

At 8:30 in the morning,

There aren’t very many people out

And we had the mountains to ourselves

It was a little icy

But that didn’t slow us down…

Literally.

It was cold enough we skied/boarded alllll the way down to the bottom

And then rode allll the way back up!

It’s hard to beat the views on a ski lift

We took the Peak to Peak again today

And the slowpokes

Got to try out the runs

The speedsters had been talking about 

It was an awesome day.

We headed down for our Apres

Had some dinner at the brewery from last night

(We even had the same waitress at High Mountain—

And she remembered us!)

Before taking one last dip in the hot tub

We’re going to miss these nightly soaks!
