Fun with 'doh

We have A LOT of Playdoh

We had a great time squishing and rolling it.

But my favorite was making food with Mom.
From left to right:
bacon and eggs,
double ice cream scoop (chocolate and vanilla with grape swirl and a cherry on top),
blue fries with ketchup and mustard,
and spaghetti and meatballs

Here's me with red spikes (I make it all by myself!)
walking Monti.
And those are her green water and food bowls.
I'm pretty good with this stuff.

Worlds of Fun...literally

Mom still had a few vacation days to burn...
so let's hit Worlds of Fun!

We got there just as the park opened...
we had a lot of stuff to do!

We rode some big rides--
the Sea Dragon and Viking Voyager were our favorites

And spent a lot of time at
Planet Snoopy

The booby rockets are always a hit

We hung out with Charlie and Linus

And Snoopy too, of course

We rode a lot of rides with Grandma

She's pretty wild and crazy

Speaking of wild and crazy,
Mom and Dad rode a bunch of roller coasters.
They tried to talk me into the Detonator...
Maybe next year
(Those are Mom's feet in the air!)

Here's the BIG news...
I rode my first roller coaster!!!
Oh, the Timber Wolf!
It was pretty cool.
When we got inside the shelter where you load up,
everyone noticed me and figured it must be my first time.
The operator had to measure me with a special bar--
when I measured tall enough,
the entire shelter of people started cheering!
I felt pretty special.
I thought it was pretty scary at first,
but then decided it was pretty fun.
The ride was good,
but not quite good enough to do again this year.

I got to do a lot of other big kid stuff too.
Drive the cars

Ride the Fury
(Weston was really bummed he was too short for this one)

Dad really wanted to go on a coaster with me.
Maybe I'll ride another next year.

It was a really fun day

 Our favorite part?
Just hanging out as a family

Belated Dad's Day

Our Cody trip
delayed our arts and crafts a bit.

But have no fear!
We got our Father's Day gifts done,
even if they were a week late.

Pictures for Dad's office

And a T-shirt for Papa
Dads and Grandads are the best!

We [heart] our boat

On a random Saturday evening,
it is so awesome to just hit the lake for a dip

Work on our swimming skills

And our driving skills

Oh.
And my climbing skills.

Did you know you can get pizza delivered to a boat ramp?
It's true.
Pizza excitement selfie.

What an awesome night.

Doesn't get much better than this.

Play ball!

I'm SO excited!
T-ball finally started!

We worked on throwing

and catching

fielding grounders

taking some coaching

and batting

Batting is definitely my favorite

 My fans,
as usual,
were highly supportive

Cody, day 6--Trolley tour

We wanted to live up our last day in Cody!
We started with a BIG hike up a BIG hill

We didn't make it very far
before we decided it was too high and too far to the top

Us big boys and Aunt Mandy stayed back to "rest" at the cabin
while everyone else set out for another hike through the hills

It really is beautiful out here

Vacation had been too much for B.
Nice to be able to nap wherever you are

He slept for 2 hours like that!

The view from the porch:

After Beckett's rest,
we headed into town for lunch
and to explore Cody.

After eating at Dairy Queen
(it's where the cowboys go!
We saw Skeeter again!),
we took a cool trolley tour of Cody
and learned all about Buffalo Bill,
the founder of Cody.
Cool dude.

Then we hit up the Irma hotel

for some drinks.
Caution!
They put something in the tea!
It makes you grow strange legs!

We did a little shopping
and had a tasty Italian dinner.

This car tempted us to go the rodeo again
but we were pretty tired.

After one final trip back to the cabin
(with the turn at the blinking Elk sign)
we packed up and hit the hay for our early flight tomorrow

We'll miss you, Cody!
See you next year!

Cody, day 5--Upper Loop of Yellowstone

We headed back to Yellowstone today,
to the northern "Upper Loop" of the park.

There were some amazing sites!

Check this out!
A bubbling mud volcano!

Beck was in awe

This was so cool too:

It really looked and sounded like there was
a dragon in there!

All these cool
smoking, bubbling mud pots

The Lower Falls

So loud!
So beautiful!

This calls for a picture

We checked out the Upper Falls too

That's a lot of fast moving water!

Grandpa and I were impressed

This calls for another picture

The Tower Falls

Beckett was thrilled to be a part of the action.
Way happier in the backpack than in his carseat!

We took a hike down to the river bank

Lots of beauty

Lots of fun

There was a lot of wildlife on this section too!

I know you can't see it,
but trust me,
there is a black bear mama and 2 cubs in this picture right in the middle
mamma bear is half behind a tree

Elk

Coyote

And of course, bison
(these are my favorite)

They call this the Liberty Cap.
We all thought it looked like something else...

It looked more like some alien planet

Weird, huh?

Beautiful plateaus and "water" falls

More bubbling stink pots

Cleopatra's terrace

Jack was impressed

So was I

The colors were so vivid!

It started to rain and we forgot Beckett's rain cover,
so he gained an entourage and a hat

Remember that beaming face when I was on the horse?
It's back.
We had to do some pages in a workbook,
hike a trail,
and hear a talk from a Ranger
and then...

We became Junior Yellowstone Rangers today!
Yellowstone ROCKS!
