Halloween!

It was a day of festivities!

We started it off with a

Halloween parade

and then a party at preschool

I was pretty proud of my spider shirt and hat!

Water Bear and Grandma Janice came over for jack-o-lantern pizza

and trick-or-treating!

We're a good looking crew!

With Mom and Dad, too!

We set off to find some candy

We met up with Mika,

or is that Doc McStuffins?

Yep, just put it in the bag!

I can move a lot faster without the tractor on...

Jack's favorite out of all of it?

Chips.

Grandma and I had a serious discussion

over Starbursts and Skittles

It took Jack until the end of the night,

but he finally warmed up to his costume.

He didn't want to take it off!

Pumpkin carvin'

While Mom was at work Sunday,

we went to the annual neighborhood chili and pumpkins party.

We carved some awesome pumpkins!

Sorry, no pictures--

hard for Dad to carve AND document the moment.

BUT,

we saved one final pumpkin for Mom.

I designed the face,

Mom cut it out.

Weston gave his support.

Dad did some scooping

and was in charge of lighting.

They look great, don't they?

We're pretty proud

The boys of Mizzou

Our friends Hudson and Finn gave us their MU tickets today

since they couldn't go.

We were SO EXCITED!!!

We pumped ourselves up for the game with a little TV en route:

We had to celebrate with a trip to Shakespears' Pizza

The Coolest Birthday Party Ever!

Tonight was Ava and Quinn's 7th Birthday Party.

They really wanted a haunted house

and a Halloween themed party.

Their mom and dad didn't disappoint.

After a brief couple of minutes of hiding under the dining room table

(I'm really unsure of this Halloween costume thing),

Weston, Mom, and I ventured into the kitchen

and had potions (mix your own drinks in beakers and flasks)

and body part parfaits (with rotten teeth (aka raisins) and ear cotton (aka cotton candy))

They we ventured into the haunted house

and saw the mummy room, the strange baby room,

and even met a fortune teller!

We decorated some haunted houses,

played a few games,

ate a cupcake,

and met some new friends.

But,

in all the fun,

we forgot to take pictures.

Here were our houses and crafts:

It was our first Halloween birthday party,

our first haunted house,

and let me say,

it will not be our last!

(Weston--"we do that again, Mama?"

Jack--"can my birthday be a haunted house?")

Annual Pumpkins and Apples

In our annual tradition,

we joined our friends Ella and Kate, Teegan from St. Louis,

and new friends Joe and Will for pumpkin and apple picking!

(all of our moms went to Mizzou together).

It was nice to see everyone again!

This year,

I wanted to ride the train with Teegan,

so Ella helped strap us both in.

Jack was not pleased to be left out.

Love this train!

Soon, we set out on the hayride to find our pumpkins!

When we hopped off the tractor,

before we could search for pumpkins,

we were completely distracted by this...

We had to check it out!

The walk back up was not nearly as fun.

After gathering our pumpkins,

we headed to the playground for a bit.
