Welcome to Truman Lake, Wes!

Well, this weekend was my first time down at the Cabin.

And I definitely lived it up.

I went boating

(car seats float, right?)

Sun tanning

(I was really only in the sun for a minute--vitamin D, right?)

Hung out with Grandpa

(Real men don't wear shirts, or maybe even pants)

Ate at the family dinners

(I'm the one under the napkin)

And did I mention go swimming in the lake...

(it was awfully warm outside)

...and shooting with Mom?

(Ok, this one was staged, but funny, right?)

Are my parents crazy for taking a 2 month old to all of that?

Probably.

But they sure do love me.

Time for some fun in the sun!!!

We hadn't been to the Cabin since last August and I couldn't wait to get back!

We got to spend 5 whole days!!!

We did some hanging out with Grandpa.

And LOTS of boating and swimming!!!

Grandpa even let me drive.

The whole family was there!

Meghan and Coleman,

Megan (cousin Tim's fiance) and Meghan,

Tim and Sydney,

Steve, Chelsea, Jake, Pat, Kathy, Aunt Mandy, Mom, Dad, Wes,

And me and Grandma.

There was a lot of swimming to do.

Even Coleman enjoyed the water (his first time ever in anything but a bathtub).

I liked to go deep and float in my life jacket.

I did have to stop for a poop break--my first time in the rough!

Thanks Grandma and Grandpa.

There was also time for looking GQ in my stylin' hat,

Trying on some coolies to become "the Coolie man" as I liked to call myself,

And kick back and have a beer with my man Coleman.

Did I mention we went on the waverunner, too?

I loved going really fast over the waves and going in circles with Mama!

Aunt Mandy took me for a ride too...

...in and out of the water!

We also went off-roading in the Ranger,

another of my new favorite things.

By the end, we were all pretty exhausted,

including Monti.

Full moon

At the cabin, all the Moms and Dads sit up late and howl at the moon.

And there was definitely a moon to howl at.

While Mom pumps

(which is all the time--even my brother asks, "Mama are you pumping again?"),

I sleep.

I need my beauty rest.

Hangin' with the neighbors

The weather finally turned nice and we've had time to hang out with our favorite neighbors!

Maggie wanted to meet Wes.

And so did her brother Conner.

Owen enjoyed some watermelon.

And Fischer and I helped Dad clean up the yard.

Well, maybe we played in the grass clippings a bit too.

Then Owen and I took the car for a spin.

Welcome summer!!!

Wes at 2 months

Things have gotten much better these last 2 weeks.

We're still not getting much sleep, but I'm sure growing well!!!

I was 8 pounds, 12 ounces at the doctor's office.

That's over 2 1/2 pounds in 2 weeks!!!

Yep, I'm pretty proud of myself.

But all this growing makes me tired!

Mom's birthday take 2

We went over to Grandma Janice and Grandpa Mike's for some celebratory fried catfish.

It was tasty!

After dinner, all the boys went for a walk out to the pond.

Then it was time for ice cream cake!

Wes had milk.

I suppose that's like melted ice cream.

Then Grandma and I played cars.

Wes slept.

Happy birthday, Mama!

The bestest big brother

My big brother is always helping me out.

Whether it's feeding me a bottle...

...or reading me a story,

he's the best!!!

Mom's birthday

Things were a bit hectic last weekend on Mom's actual birthday with having to feed Wes every 2 hours, so we waited until this weekend to celebrate.

We went to Mom's favorite restaurant, Stroud's, for some fried chicken.

Then it was back to Grandma Phyllis's for some cake.

First though, we need to burn off all that food.

I took the bike for a spin.

Mikayla tested out the water tower.

Then it was time for cake.

Austin and I helped Mama blow out the candles.

Wes and Papa snuggled.

It was a good night.
