First game of the spring season

And Tucker’s speed is on display again

When he gets going,

There aren’t many that can catch him!

 

Swinging 16

Weston’s 16th birthday happens to fall on a Saturday

AND

His friends all happened to be free

So off to TopGolf we go!

The gold wasn’t pretty

But they had a good time

A night of BBQ,

Nerf Wars,

Gaga Ball,

Monopoly,

And a lot of cookies and ice cream

The perfect Weston celebration

 

Bringing home the medals

The long-anticipated MSSL champs have finally arrived

And Beckett was PSYCHED to see what he could do.

Mom warned him that he was so fast these days

That big PRs are probably not on the table.

He showed her.

He swam nothing but breaststroke tonight

(His fave)

From the breast leg of the medley relay

To the 100Y breast

And then the 50Y breast.

This picture captures his good friends

And fierce competition—

Beck on the left, Sawyer in the middle,

And Cooper on the right.

Go get ‘em boys!

Beckett was a sight to behold

His medley relay took 2nd

And Beck set a new breast PR of 37.90s.

Then he took 2nd in the 100Y breast,

Crushing his old time by 3.23s

With a new PR of 1:22.93.

And finally, 

He took 3rd in the 50Y breast,

Taking 1.59s off his seed time

With ANOTHER PR of 37.30s.

Dang, Beck!

You just keep moving closer to your goal

Of making the records wall at the aquatic center!

 

Our budding Representative

Jackson’s political career continues to blossom.

He represented LSN today

At the District Legislative Breakfast

Hitting all the highlight talking points of his school

Keep making us proud, Jackson!

 

Making up for lost time

Mom had to run some papers up to HPE today

So she figured she might as well eat lunch with Tucker

While she was there.

Let the record show—

Tucker has had lunch brought to him 

At least twice in his elementary school career.

Sweet 13

There was another big event 

in the Reed household tonight…

When you turn 13,

You get your first iPhone.

Beckett has been counting the days

For MONTHS

And we surprised him with an early delivery

So he has it for Spring Break

In a few weeks.

To say he was thrilled

Would be a gross understatement!

Happy early birthday, B!

 

Meet Gloria

Weston saved up his money

And, going halfsies with Mom and Dad,

Bought his first car today!

Meet Gloria,

A 2011 Toyota Camry 

That use to belong to Cousin Vince.

He sat out there for hours,

Reading the owner’s manual.

Ahhh, 1st cars!

 

A Reed/Orford/Stigge non-cabin outing

When Meghan’s all time favorite book

(And a top 5 for the rest of us)

Hit the big screen,

We had to mobilize the crew

For a lunch and matinee fieldtrip!

A Spider Monkey Birthday

As much as he loves climbing,

Having Tucker’s 11th birthday party at RoKC

Was a no-brainer.

A lot of his friends had never climbed before

He was quick to show them the “ropes”

(Get it?)

Tucker was in his usual pro climber mode

Beckett was on fire too

Beckett completed a 5.10 after a bit of troubleshooting

And Tucker scaled his first 5.11!

60 feet up!

They had a great time

They all embraced the rappel by the end too!

(Well, almost everyone—

The friend on the right was still a bit nervous…)

Even a lot of cake and slushees

Couldn’t sugar them up enough

To keep them up all night

After all that climbing

Which is HIGHLY unusual for this crew!

(They were all passed out by 1am)

A good time was had by all!

Double Blue Win

Look out,

Broncobots are back in action

For the 2026 season.

Introducing: Cyclone

The game this year

Hinges on shooting lots of balls

Into a target

As fast as possible.

What can Cyclone and team do?

Weston and crew put a lot of hours into this design.

Cyclone shoots 18 balls per second.

Yep.  That’s a lot.

They crushed the competition in quals,

Going undefeated

And outscoring their opponents 2-4 to 1.

Which made them the 1st Alliance Captain.

They partnered up with LS West

(Pictured in the background here)

And continued to dominate!

They went UNDEFEATED at Heartland Regional!

Aaaaand…

They won IMPACT!

For the first time in 13 years!

All Jackson’s hard work these last 4 years

Has finally paid off.

2 brothers with different robotic strengths,

With 2 HUGE wins!

A double qualify for Worlds!

An epic end to a novice season

Jackson was invited to compete 

In the NSDA National Qualifiers in

US Extemporaneous Speaking.

He’s medaled in this event nearly every meet this year.

There was a great showing from North

Including Jackson!!!

It was a bit bittersweet

Since 1st through 4th place qualify for nationals,

But this is an exceptional end 

To his first ever season.

Congrats, Jackson!

We couldn’t be prouder!

Trout for Tuck

Of all the times that Beckett, Dad and Tucker

Have gone fishing, 

Tucker by far has caught the least fish.

He gets skunked nearly every time.

But not today!

He caught one…

And then another

While Dad and Beck barely got a nibble.

Not enough for a fish dinner,

But enough for smoked trout dip!

Another meet, another (couple) PRs

MSSL meet #2 was tonight

And Beckett was ready to go.

His free relay took 3rd—

Not too shabby out of 12 teams!

But the real races were his individual events.

Up first was a new one to B—

The 100 yard breast.

He came in 4th

With a 1:26.16.

Let’s goooo!

The pack for the 50 yard breast is beastly…

But he battled to 4th

With a new PR of 38.90,

Shaving over 0.5 seconds off his time.

Nice meet, Beckett! 

It’s not even my birthday!

So you know how people always say

The baby of the family gets all the special treatment?

Well, in this case,

It’s not true.

It occurred to us

That we had never, in nearly 6 years,

Taken lunch to Tucker.

Yikes.

We fixed that today!

Better late than never!

One last band contest

Weston’s Wind Ensemble

Competed in the MSHSAA band competition today 

And they ROCKED IT!

Weston played a little bit of everything.

We’re going to miss this next year!

It’s hard to believe Beckett has only been playing trumpet

For a little over a year and a half.

We were excited to hear how far

The band has come.

He and Jon have been friends forever—

Hard to believe these guys are the same age!

They sounded so good!
