Salsa for Grandma

Grandma Phyllis's birthday is Wednesday.
But Mom has to work,
there is soccer practice
and curriculum night this week...
so let's go celebrate tonight!

Grandma LOVES chips and salsa
so we headed out for some Mexican
We may be making some weird faces,
but I promise,
a good time was had by all!

Grandma's chair

 How cute am I?
Grandma P did an awesome job
documenting my growth...

6 months

12 months

Almost 17 months
Whoa.
I'm getting big!

Fishing Scouts

Today was my FIRST
Cub Scout event!

It was the Fishing Derby.
I was proud to be a member of the Pack this time around.

Everyone tried their hand with the fish

I had 3 or 4 bites
and finally landed this guy!

Ahh!
Don't let him get too close!

See?
I can be brave and touch it.

Mom caught this little thing.
We could use it as bait!

Look out B!
Don't let it get you!

Where's Beckett?

I missed Weston's first game of the season today.
But I had a really good reason...
I went to my first birthday party today!!!

My friend Anna had a zoo party.
It was pretty awesome to be a guest.

The best part though?
Dad and I went to the zoo for a few hours,
just the 2 of us.
I'd say that's a pretty good reason
to miss my brother's game.

The return of Soccer Saturday

I am SO excited
for soccer this season!!!

We have moved up to 7 on 7
with a goalie this year.

The Ninjas/Ninjas/Ninjas/Bombers/Fireballs
now Sharks are PSYCHED!

I had a lot of hustle today

And we had to use a skill
every time we touched the ball

At halftime,
my littlest supporter
was busy making friends
on the sidelines

while I warmed up
for my first time as Keeper

I was a little nervous

but pretty excited

However,
my team is really good.
This is what it looked like
the majority of the game
(can you see me?
all by myself down there?)

I did get a little action

And a lot of smiles

Our first Sharks win!
6 or 7 (I think) to 1!

Our new favorite babysitter

Mom's friend Nancy
came to babysit for us a week ago.
We played a bunch of games,
read some books,
played outside,
and best of all, made a craft.

We decorated these pots
and planted grass seed so they would grow hair.

After a few days,
we got this:

We let them grow for a full week...
and now they need haircuts!

Barbers, hard at work

A sculpted 'do for Wes

I went with a reverse mohawk--
short in the middle, long on the sides

Jack's, Weston's, mine, Tucker's
Hmmm.
Beauty school may not be in our futures.
But we are counting the days
until they need cuts again!!!

Now THAT'S a fish!

Grandpa and GiGi have a tradition
of going trot-lining over their
anniversary week.

They invited us to come along to check the line
Saturday morning.

We'll get this net all ready,
just in case...

We did NOT know what we were in for.
Dad said he could hear us screaming like girls
from up the bluff at the cabin.

You'd scream like a girl too
if you caught a fish as big as you are!

Whoa.
Just look at him!

Proud Grandpa
and his boys

58 pounds.
That's about what Jack weighs!
Weston didn't want to get too close...

Some proud fishermen
(and woman)

Think we can catch another one
with these???

Helping Dad

Our stove and oven suddenly died a few days ago.
Have no fear, Dad figured out the wiring went bad
and ordered some new ones.

Now we are replacing them.

Yep, I said we.

Here Dad.
You need this one too.

You work over there.
I'll work over here.

Speaking of helping Dad,
Jack helped put up our new
weather station.

See?
More helping!

And the boat?
Yep, helping there too.

Huskies 2016-2017

Summer has come and gone--
how is that possible?

Time to get our "husky" on!

Weston

The HPE crew

Beckett was not about to be left out!

Everyone had to come out to wait for the bus
on the first day!

Bus stop buddies

And off we go!
It's going to be a good year.
