Today was a sea day
As we make our way to Honduras.
That meant we could check out all the happenings on the ship.
While the rest of us slept in,
Mom and Mema headed to Zumba.
We had breakfast in the main dining room
Which took a surprisingly long time…
Not sure we’ll do that again.
Then it was time to hit the water park!
Yep—there are 6 slides on the ship
And we were determined to ride them all.
The lines moved really slowly
So we only got through a few of them.
We hit the taco bar for lunch
And then settled in the pool.
Check this out:
There’s a swim up bar!
Ooo. Of the 7 pools,
This might be our favorite.
It’s formal night
So we headed in a bit early so we could shower
And look our best.
And look what our room attendant, Jackson, made!
He was busy!
It’s sort of a running joke in our family
That there’s a birthday or anniversary to celebrate
Every night.
Guess whose “birthday” it was tonight?
We managed to fit in extra dessert on top of our lobster tails.
After dinner, it was time for Pappo to get his long-awaited
Father’s Day gift.
We bought him a Royal Caribbean cooler
Filled with Bud Light
But, given his panache for giving everyone a hard time,
We thought we’d do the same.
Jackson made an amazing gift certificate that Amanda gave him
On Father’s Day:
And boy, did the hint of a spa day or something similar spook him!
He grilled Amanda and Mema for details
All the way up to the cruise.
Then when this arrived today:
He was really fit to be tied.
After dinner,
Mema, Pappo, Mom, Dad and Kurt headed over
To the Vitality Spa
to “turn in” his gift certificate.
He literally tried to hide and “get lost” twice on the walk over.
They finally got him there
and he found all his Amigos waiting
He was so relieved!
Happy Father’s Day!
We needed a picture of the girls who made him a father
And pulled off this plan
(Although it may have been someone else’s idea…
But we’ll never tell)
Now that that stress was over,
We headed to the Promenade for some pictures
We clean up good, don’t we?
We had time for some dancing
some arcade games
Some pictures in this ridiculous throne
And had our first “coffee inspired cocktail” at Rye and Bean—
We even found a pod in the Overlook
To chill in until it was time for our show.
We saw The Wizard of Oz tonight—
It was an impressive production,
Especially on a cruise ship!
We finished the night with obligatory Sorrento’s pizza
And some awesome pub music
Before heading to bed.
We’ve got big plans for tomorrow!
