Fun in LS

There were a lot of fun happenings
around town today.

First we hit up the LSHS Homecoming parade

Waving DEFINITELY gets you more candy

And then we hit up Oktoberfest--
the flying helicopters were our favorite

Top it off with DQ ice cream with friends,
and I'd say we did up Lee's Summit right tonight!

Caught in the act

They aren't the best quality pictures,
but the iPhone makes it easy to catch me in action

Standing
(or rather, leaning)

The little bald pop-up head
in the middle of the night

Eating my toes

Catching some adorable zzz's

Tripoding

Hanging with my brother

I'm always doing something too cute to miss

Another one "bites" the dust

Yep, that's right!
I'm now 2 teeth closer to my adult smile!
(and a lot of braces...)

One last time

The time has come.
Fall is here.
But that didn't keep us off the boat
(for what may be the last time this year :(  )

Jack and Dad spent a little quality time fishing

Of course there were drinks and snacks!

Me?
I had a bit of tummy time.
Yes, on the boat.
Tummy time is DEFINITELY more fun in the boat.

I'm pretty quick to roll over when I'm done on my tim

My pirate smile is pretty appropriate
on the boat,
don't you think?
Weston taught me that one

We were sad to leave.
Although being rough and tumble carried by Dad
made it more bearable!
Our Superman!

Well boat,
guess we'll see you next summer!

More biggest brother perks

Today, while the little brothers napped,
Mom and I went to our friend Grant's house
to celebrate his first birthday.

There were snacks, hotdogs, and cupcakes.
And capes to decorate and toys to play with.
And party favors.  Lots of party favors.
And did I mention it was a PERFECT afternoon?
Hitting a party, walking with Mom,
enjoying some snacks, the only Reed brother in sight?
It's good to be the oldest.

Bathtime fun

It's been a long time since my brothers
helped out with my bath.

We all crowded into my bathroom tonight
for all the fun!
So many helpful hands,
I was sparkly clean in no time!

Big boy

As I close in on the 5 month mark,
I'm doing some very big boy things.

I laugh and talk a lot.
Especially when we play Peek-a-Boo.

I easily roll from my front to my back
and can roll from my back to my front if I really want to.

I don't like to recline anymore.
Sit me up straight!  I want to see the world!

I LOVE to watch everyone eat
and I've started to grab for food off plates and forks if I can reach them.
I hang out in my high chair for mealtime now.
Baby food isn't far off...

Much to Mom's dismay,
I prefer to sleep on my belly now.
I'll roll onto it if you put me on my back.
Up 'til now,
I've gone 6 hours overnight at a time.
But this is what I look like after 11 HOURS of straight sleep!!!
Mom and Dad weren't sure what to do with all that sleep.
And they checked to be sure I was breathing 2 or 3 times.

I'm getting so big!
Time is flying!

Schooling

When we get up the the morning,
we usually let Mom and Dad sleep for a while
and find ways to entertain ourselves.
Sometimes its toys,
sometimes its books,
but our favorite thing is to do our "work" together.

I pull a chair from my room into Jack's room
up to his big kid desk.
We draw pictures, work on our letters and numbers,
and get along like best pals.
It's the best way to start the day!

Our first hogs

They may not be motorcycles,
but we thought they were hot stuff.
Especially the horns.
Good thing no one asked for our licenses.

Circus fun

We were so excited this year
to go to the circus with Austin and Mikayla.

It's a bit hard to make out,
but we were MESMERIZED

So was Beckett

There were tigers and even a lion,
trick dogs,
lots of high wire acts
(including a motorcycle...way up there!),
clowns,
aerial tricks,
and Mom's favorite...
ELEPHANTS!

We sat perfectly still for a vey long time,
but when the music came up
and it was time to dance,
we were all in!

 But everyone's favoritest favorite?
When the dragon came out!
(that was the circus theme this year--dragons)

It was a lot of fun,
but ran well into the night.
We were all pretty beat by the end.
Even B.
School was rough the next day,
but as Jack says,
"It was totally worth it."

Things we like

I've discovered books.
I like them.
They make me smile.

I've learned to nap.
Usually with my hands over my head.
And rolled over on my tummy.
My bed is best, but my seat will do.
Mom and Dad like them.
They make them smile.

Jack in Action

Come on, Coach!
Put me in.  I'm ready!

I love this team

Jack's Big Day

Today I was the Letter Expert for the letter B.
That means I had to stand in front of my class
and teach them how to write the letter, the sound it makes,
and talk about things that start with B
(I brought a bunch of my baby brother Beckett's
blue blocks in a bag with a blue stripe on it.)
It went great!

To celebrate,
Mom came to school to have lunch with me!
It was a "Big" day!

Skunk eye

We get the "skunk eye" from my teacher when we are late to preschool.

Don't know what the "skunk eye" is?

Here, let me show you:

No one likes to see that!

Summer's final hurrah

Labor Day is always a good time
on Truman Lake.

Even Beckett thought so!

Giving the floaty a test drive

The whole gang was there!

After all that knee boarding at Table Rock,
Jack thought he'd give Truman waters a try

It wasn't long before I wanted to give it a try!

Swimming always brings out our photogenic side,
so all three of us boys let Mom take our picture:

Despite my nap,
all that fun on the water
wore me out.
They say sleeping and driving is dangerous,
but we made it back to the dock ok.

I got my second wind
and put my artistic skills to work

That's a picture of Jack, Grandma J,
Water Bear and me.
Water Bear is the one with the purple line over his mouth.
His mustache, of course.

Cousin Reid seized the opportunity this weekend
to try his first sip of wine.

Maybe a popsicle will ease teething woes a bit better.

Our last day,
we headed to Barry Bend again,
just the 5 of us.

And I was the bravest I had been yet.

Check out
Airborne Wes!

Between Mom's maternity leave,
all the Family Fieldtrips,
Black Bear Lodge,
and trips to the Cabin,
this summer has been pretty good to us!
