We have lots of good conversations in the car on the way home from preschool/work. This one didn't go quite right...

Jack: Mama, remember when we saw all those "ambleances" and stuff?

Mom: What are you talking about?

Jack: The ambleances?

Mom: What ambulances?

Jack: The ambleances with the flashing lights and stuff? And the people?

Mom (searching for some memory to go with this vagueness): Oh yeah, and the traffic was all backed up? The accident this morning? When we saw the police and fire trucks?

Jack: Yeah. (pause) Mom, what are you talking about?

Mom: I don't know. What are you talking about?

Jack: I don't know.

Hmmm. Sometimes it's difficult to have a meaningful conversation with a 3 year old. Funny all the same.

Finally...after 10 months...

The coveted remote

I can pretty much get where ever I want to go these days,

either by crawling (hands and knees--no more commando)

or by cruising.

For example,

I see that remote on the chair over there.

Scoot a little closer and reeeach...

Oops. A little too far.

No matter.

Stand myself up.

And success!

Boats!

The four of us went to the boat show this weekend.

There was all sorts of stuff to see.

Dad and I posed with the fish for a quick pic.

Then we tried our hand at fishing in the trout pool.

The girl next to me caught one and judging by how big my eyes got,

it's probably best that it was her and not me.

Finally, we looked at some boats.

I was having such a great time crawling all over them,

I didn't even have time to pause for a picture.

Dad is hoping to buy one soon.

SNOW!

For the last 18 hours, it has been snowing.

Even though it was late, and I should have been heading to bed,

Mom and I couldn't resist a quick romp in the snow.

I LOVED it!!!

Even when my "glubs" fell off, I didn't care.

I threw myself into the snow for more fun.

This snow stuff gets better every year!

Hopefully it's still around this weekend so we can really play in it!
