A fine Fall Fest

What a great night

To hang out at the school at the Fall Festival—

Maybe win some pop, a cookie,

An entire box of Rice Krispie treats????

Worth the price of admission!

 

A different Pumpkin Patch

We do love Carolyn’s Pumpkin Patch

But Dad has been talking about going to Weston all summer….

Seems like a perfect reason to head north!

Our first stop was Green Dirt Farm

For some charcuterie and drinks

We needed to fuel up…

For all of fun at the Weston Orchard!

First we all took a turn with the apple cannons.

The rotten apples STUNK

But the gun was fun!

And then an obligatory stop at the bounce pillow

And how about these pipe hamster wheels??

We all took a turn with the sledgehammer strength test

But only Dad could make the bell ring

How about a wagon ride?

That ends up on the other side of the orchard row

We were wanting to pick some apples anyway

We visited the pigs,

Who were really excited to see us

And rode the mini carousal 

Probably our favorite spot of the day

Was this HUGE zinnia field

Weston in the Weston Orchard ;)

Made for a nice picture

A trip to Weston couldn’t be complete 

Without a trip to the Weston Brewery…

And a picture with he world’s largest ball of string

And then, because we were up north,

We had to stop by Strouds for dinner.

Pumpkin Patch done.

 

Some work while others play

The Broncobots were “gifted” a parking lot

To sell spots during Oktoberfest as a fundraiser—

My friend Carson and I worked really hard to attract customers

Meanwhile,

My brothers and parents roamed the tents, 

Ate funnel cake and drank root beer,

Listened to music,

And visited the petting zoo.

Humph.

Glad some of us are getting things done around here.

 

Finding success on the field

I’ve been busting my butt on the field

And my hard work has paid off—

I’m one of the starting safetys and on the kickoff special team. 

A first for me today—

I caught the kickoff!

I had a 15 yard run!

Throw in a few tackles this game

And I’m pretty happy with my progress this season!

 

Oh, Tucker!

I’m willing to jump into just about anything:

My brother’s pads

My mother’s mums

Whatever comes around!

Laying it all out there

Finally, it’s MY turn to start my fall season.

I’m back with the Panthers and we’re feeling GOOD this year.

I play both sides—

A killer rusher and fast running back.

We won our first game by mercy rule…

On the RIGHT side of the mercy rule this time!

Don’t mind my face;

I promise I’m happy.

I just laid myself out for a flag tackle on the last play.

I’m an all-in kind of player

Be BISON

I went out for the football team again this year.

We have a new coaching staff that is much more organized

And seem to really be invested in the team.

We have all sorts of slogans like HIT HIT HIT

And Be BISON (Be Bold, Inspiring, Strong, One, Noticed).

I had been really working hard in practice and thought I’d make the B team.

I was pretty disappointed to make C.

It hasn’t stopped me from pouring my heart into it though.

I’m a safety again and

I proudly got my first 2 tackles in the first game.

We lost our first game—we were scoreless in the first half.

But man did we come back in the second half!

We held them to just 1 TD and we scored 2.

The coaches were proud of our efforts

Looking forward to the next one…

We’ll get ‘em then.

 

Back in the pool

After about 4 weeks of practice,

The day of our first high school meet of the season has arrived.

Did you know I don’t like meets?

Crazy, right?

They stress me out.

I’d rather just practice.

But, off the blocks I go…

I had a great first meet:

I took nearly 6 seconds off my 200 free

Coming in at 2:19.69

and took nearly 2 seconds off my 100 free,

Taking first in my heat at 1:04.78

I even swam in a relay (I think it was my first one!

Not a bad start to the year!

SHINEDOWN!

We’ve been waiting all summer for this one—

Dad’s favorite band, Shinedown, is in concert!

Jack has his first swim meet tomorrow

And, because of the late night, decided to sit this one out.

We had to dance extra hard to make up for him.

They put on a great show

Shinedown and Papa Roach rose back to the top

Of our car DJ list!

Sneaking in some lake time

Labor Day was Mom’s holiday to work

But since she got Saturday off between shift

And EVERYONE was at the lake,

You better believe we jetted down for some boat time!

We started the day with surfing.

Mom tried but couldn’t find a good wave.

Then Jack went

And thought it felt off too.

Dad got up

And made it look easy.

We spent all day on the water with the fam.

But all good things come to an end.

As the sunset chased us in,

I tried surfing one more time for the season

It was a bit harder than last time,

But I still got up!

Last boat day of the summer—

Definitely a worthy one.
