Cruisin' Day 4: A hard to reach National Park

Look what we sailed into this morning?
THAT'S a nice view off your balcony!

Suits on--
let's go check out St. Thomas!

The boys crew is ready
(Kurt and Thea are sitting this adventure out)

One last pic
before our ride--
operated by Mic Love himself
(look him up! he's a famous singer on the island!)--
picks us up

Mom and Dad did a lot of legwork on for this excursion.
The Virgin Island National Park
is on St. John's, right next door to St. Thomas.
It's known for its sea turtles and beautiful beaches.
But the only way to get there for us
was by ferry or catamaran.
Why take the public ferry
when you can take the private catamaran?

All aboard Seas the Day with Captain Vic
(who it turns out owns the same jet boat we do...)

After a quick lunch

it was time to enjoy the ship.
They had beanbag chairs!
We decided this was genius.

Tuck, laying out

Jack in his favorite spot

Me in mine.

Everyone was in a festive mood

which definitely calls for a group picture!

After some cruising,
we made it to the National Park
and our first stop was Scott Bay,
just off of Cancel Bay.
Everyone in to the water!

for some snorkeling

with TURTLES!

And STING RAY!

Must dos in the National Park--
check!

As we were getting ready to leave,
a dolphin mom and baby came into our cove!
The baby cuddled up with another
family in the water
and started really going after one of the ladies.
It started cute but got aggressive really fast.
Our first mate Vale said
"that's why we don't mess with dolphins."
Noted!

Back on board,
Captain Vic pointed out an AMAZING landmark.
See the house on the hill above Dad's head?
Do you know who's house that is??!?!
Here's a hint...look at Mom's hat...
Hello, Kenny Chesney!
I'm sure he would have come down to say hello
had he known we were here.

A gorgeous day
on a gorgeous island!

Soon we were sailing to our next stop--
Lovago Cay, just across from St. John's.
Pappo tried out the front seat

and so did Tucker
There were some cool fish there--
lots of needlefish
and a few sergeant, parrotfish, and angelfish
(no good pictures here).

Then we were back to sailing

and relaxing

and selfie-ing

The light and scenery made for some great pictures

We did a bit of port shopping
(because everyone needs a souvenir!)
before stopped for one last picture

and getting back on our
ship sweet ship

Look at our animal tonight!
but no time to gawk.
We had to get to dinner!

We ventured to the late seating tonight,
just the six of us,
which meant we sat wherever they had room for us.

We had 2 amazing servers
who introduced us to the super-secret
Indian food that was available every night.

Dinner was a bit quieter at 8:00
but Tucker kept us entertained
with his determination
to get out his very loose,
very snagly front tooth.

We discovered a few of the hot tubs are open late
so of course that's where we needed to go!

But we were beat--
it's time for bed.

Wait!
Tucker got it out!

What do you do if you lose a tooth at sea?

Give it to Poseidon, of course!

Another souvenir--
a new grin!
Wonder what Poseidon will leave him?
