Pappo and Mema organize a trip to Las Vegas every year
with a big group of friends
to see the National Finals Rodeo (NFR)
and this year,
Mom and Dad decided to take them up on the offer
The first night was a tasty meal at Lola's
and a night of gambling
(Mom was up from popcorn craps!)
Day 2 was the big day.
We'll be back as a family for Spring Break
(hello, Death Valley!)
so Mom and Dad explored a bit
to get ideas for us to see next time
Then it was time for a HUGE breakfast at
Hash House A Go-Go...

Finally, it was time to head to the main event
and did we mention they had a SUITE?

So this is what Mom and Dad look like

Mom and Dad said it was by far
the best rodeo they'd ever seen.
Everyone made it 8 seconds
or got their calf
There were new point records set
and new world champions made
They said it was so awesome,
we might get invited to join them next year

We have to add in a story here--
apparently a lady (who was talking loudly on her phone)
and her daughter wandered into the suite.
The lady started helping herself to food
but was quickly stopped and told to leave by everyone,
but apparently especially by Carol.
Then the daughter started yelling that Carol
was being "too much" and they would go
but that CAROL was in the wrong.
It was a topic of conversation (and teasing) for the rest of the trip.
After eating waaaaay more food than anyone should have
and finishing every drink in the suite,
it was time to leave the cowboys and
head back out to Vegas
Dad kindly carried Carol's bag
(which may have been filled with more drinks)
The Strip was lovely that night
Mom said they absolutely had to see the fountains
to make the trip complete
Bonus?
They were playing Christmas songs
(and Oh Holy Night is one of Mom's faves)
With a couple of "cooler beers" in hand,
the night was complete...
ESPECIALLY after a picture with Mickey and Minnie
