What better to do on Spring Break than ski?
Today we headed to the epic Heavenly Ski Resort.
Since we have only skied once before,
literally 2 days in our lives,
we thought we'd better start out on the bunny slopes.
Getting on the Magic Carpet was hard!
It was uphill to just get on.
Mom or Dad had to stay behind us
to literally push us on it!
Most of the fam was a little nervous,
even at the top of this little hill.
Jack asked Mom to "go first" so he could get up his confidence.
Then he blasted down!
Check out Mema!
Making 70 look fierce!
After a bit,
we decided it was time to take on a Green
Check out that view!
I make it look easy!
Going up again!
Dad making it look good
Weston and Jack pretty quickly
found their ski legs.
They headed up the mountain
with Aunt Mandy and Uncle Kurt
to try out some of the bigger, longer Greens
Everyone having a good time!
Well, almost everyone.
Tuck had a hard time.
Could he do it?
Yes.
Was he scared?
Yes.
A scared Tucker doesn't do well.
There was a lot of walking down hills
in the beginning.
Admittedly, this one was kind of tricky.
After the lift
(which tripped Mom up nearly every time),
there was a 180 degree turn
that also went downhill.
People were falling everywhere--
it was hairy.
After a taxing morning of trying to remember how to ski,
we needed to break for lunch.
Pappo, who had been hanging at the nearby casino,
even came to join us.
Mandy, Kurt, Wes and Jack
told us it was time to come up the mountain.
So...
...up we go!
The signage was a little confusing.
We were looking for Patsy's
and climbed to the top of the hill
(literally, skis off, climbing up)
just to find out that we needed to ski down that hill.
The view was worth it
Ok,
that was pretty good!
There were a lot of good opportunities for selfies
and portraits
A HUGE win for the day--
Tucker got his confidence!
Look at him on Patsy's!
We decided it was time for a "big" one--
Aunt Mandy said we could rock Maggie's
(also a Green).
We had to take 2 lifts to get there
and the view was definitely worth the ride!
It was a good one.
Me, Tuck, Dad and Mom did it 2-3 times.
Weston and Jack did a Blue with
Aunt Mandy and Uncle Kurt
And before we knew it,
it was time to head back down the mountain
But what day on the slopes is complete
without cocktails at the bottom?
Everyone was feeling good
Needed to capture the moment
before we loaded up all the gear
and returned it to the shop
before enjoying the drive home around the Lake
Some Wii games topped off this day
Truly Heavenly!
