We hadn't been about to get to the cabin in a month
so we thought we'd sneak down on Friday
when we were out of school for a Teacher Work Day.
BUT...
because of the snow and cold,
they cancelled our soccer games this weekend.
Our 1 day get away
became a 3 day long weekend!
It was full of one surprise after another.
First,
we discovered not only were we at the cabin
but so were Mema and Pappo,
AND Steve and Carol
AND Mark and Peggy
AND...Ian and Cole!
They were down for Spring Break.
We hadn't seen them since...
well...the start of COVID??!?
Then,
with my birthday coming up,
Pappo decided it was time to upgrade
my 4 wheeler
I'm so spoiled.
Our toys are getting bigger:
THEN,
when Mema, Pappo, Steve and Carol invited us along
to the VFW,
Mom and Dad actually said yes!
We played Keno
and a lot of pool
Tucker learned to rack
Pappo and Dad gave out a lot of pointers
and Mom and I pretended to be awesome
But wait.
There's more.
THEN,
we went to the new Mexican restaurant
in downtown Osceola--
this is going to be a game changer!
After a couple of late nights
staying up too late with long-lost family,
we needed some chill mornings
filled with audiobooks and screen time.
Ok, no. That's how I like to spend every morning.
But still.
Too soon,
it was time to clean up and head home.
