Star of the Seas Day 5: A little St. Maarten does the soul good

We were up bright and early,
Took a little hike to the port,
And were on our catamaran, the Flagship II, before we knew it,
Ready for adventure.

We’ve actually been on this catamaran
With this crew (Alois and Benjamin) before
On our last trip
And had so much fun,
We came back for another round!

We settled into our spots

And headed out into the blue sea

A much calmer ride than yesterday

Cooper and Thea
Give it 8 thumbs up!

Our first stop was full of swimming and relaxing

But you know us…
We only sit around for so long

When the crew showed us that we could jump
Off the top deck,
You better believe we were up there in a heartbeat

Tucker

Wes

More Tuck

Beck

And Dad

The ocean makes us wanna dance!

Even Cooper got in on it!
He just needed a little help…

Nice starfish!

The girls stopped for a drink

And then got photobombed

A lot of fun to be had

And THEN the shots came out…

There was even some for the kids!

Not sure the adults are the best role models but…

After lunch,
We were headed for our next stop for some snorkeling.
Alois warned us it was going to be a crazy ride…
We probably should have taken him seriously
When he went into the cabin and closed the door!

The waves were WILD,
A lot like yesterday

And we got pummeled!

It was…awesome?
Crazy?
Intense?
Puke-inducing?
Depends on who you ask
(Mema and Tuck didn’t fare so well…)

Soon enough,
We were in calmer waters
And were jumping back in for some snorkeling

Too soon,
It was time to head back to the pier.
We did get some cool views of the ship!

And time for a few family pictures

10 of us made this one
Mema was still a bit sick

But she rallied in the end
For one last shot toast
For a heck of a day!

Thanks, Sint Maarten!

Back on board,
With a little time before dinner,
Mom and Dad stopped for a quiet moment to themselves

Dinner was a festive affair tonight,
Complete with magic tricks from Yulius

Despite being very dapperly dressed for White Night,
Or perhaps BECAUSE we were so dapperly dressed,
Tuck and Coop decided it was a good time for a night climb

While others headed for mini golf

And Mom and Jack
Hit up the Hideaway adults only bar…
Because they could

We looked SO GOOD tonight
In our finest white—
We had to stop for a formal family picture!

We should have taken a better family selfie

Looking good, boys!

We ran into the secret piano man
(We rode the elevator with him yesterday—
Yes, he crams into an elevator and serenades people
On their ride.
We sang along to “Sweet Caroline”)

We stopped for more jazz

Before hitting a not-so-festive dance party
(Not a bit crowd)
We all retired to Playmakers for more hockey-watching
And pool-playing
When we noticed a HUGE crowd of people heading back into
Studio B.

Mom and Jackson followed
And were quickly swept up in Crazy Quest—
A risqué, adults only, crowd-sourcing scavenger hunt
That culminated in the “beefiest” guys on each team
Getting dressed by the audience
To walk the catwalk in their finest.
They said it was quite entertaining
And something Aunt Mandy would have LOVED.
We’ll make sure she’s there next time.

Whew.
Good thing tomorrow is a sea day.
We need some rest!
