Our weekend at the cabin started a bit bumpy—
Beck didn’t feel great so we had to forego
Osceola’s best Mexican and get Osceola’s best pizza
(Aka Casey’s).
While Jack and Dad drove to town
(Yes, JACK drove! The CC Right of Passage!),
Mom and I took the 4 wheelers for a spin down to the Saddle.
Ranger living his best life
Look what we found!
A sunken, waterlogged Xbox1
We turned the night around a bit—
Pizza, drinks, games and then the finale of Ted Lasso.
Not a bad night.
Saturday, Beck was back in action—
There were a lot of donuts to fry!
We’ve been told there is a muskrat living under our front deck.
When we saw one run into the woodpile across the road,
We thought maybe we’d found our culprit.
Dad shot at it a few times
But after a while, we decided maybe it was actually
Living in the woodpile.
We’re leaving it alone.
We ran the trot line with Mema and Pappo today—
Check out our haul!
After our full morning,
We were ready for some boat time
It wasn’t all that hot
So lounging on the boat was pretty awesome
Look who joined us late this afternoon!
The Welch fam!
Our evening sun was a bit short-lived.
Most of us headed up the path
While Bob, Dad and Jack flew upriver to get the boat out.
And that sky opened up on them…
Once they got back and dried off a bit,
We had a delish dinner
And then headed outside for some fireworks,
Fire pit and s’mores
I was so happy.
I’ve been wanting to shoot off these fireworks for months.
The sketchy weather continued on Sunday—
Cooler temps and possible rain—
So we decided to make it a 4 wheeler day.
It was pretty perfect at the end of the road
With all the parents walking back,
Weston got to drive the Ranger back to the cabin.
Hold on Bennett!
A trip to the Cheese Factory
And our weekend was complete.
Boating, hiking, 4-wheelers, cheese,
Fire pits, s’mores, games and laughs.
Not even rain can stop our good time!
