Well fed on our Embassy breakfast,
we're got to the airport bright and early
We've had a lot of travel woes lately--
hours of delays and rebookings.
We were ready for anything.
But guess what--nothing happened!
Both flights were on time,
our rental car was ready,
our bags arrived.
It was so smooth, we weren't sure what to do!
We actually got to stick to our plan
to hit the grocery store
before we settled into our house for the week.
We're staying in Teton Village,
which we quickly learned was the hub
for just about all our plans for the week
AND only a few miles from Grand Teton National Park.
Awesome.
And guess what?
Turns out,
we'll be sharing our yard with a MOOSE!
See the tracks?
This is the grass beside the hot tub!
Things were going so well,
we decided to head to The Deck for some cocktails
before dinner.
The Deck is a bar on the top of Jackson Hole Mountain--
you can get there by 5 miles hike or the gondola.
Today, we chose gondola.
Everyone settled in for the 15 minute ride to the top!
We were disappointed to see the smoke from the western wildfires
hung heavy over our view of Jackson
but not so disappointed we couldn't take a Tee Time Pic
Hmm. That's a lot of smoke
The good news is that it's supposed to be gone in the morning.
The other "silver lining"--
it made for a cool sunset!
(Pun just for Jack...)
Can't wait for tomorrow!
