Aunt Michelle, Grandma, and Mom
had this idea.
They thought time together
as a big family
might make a better Christmas gift
than anything we could wrap up
and put under a tree.
I'll be honest--
I'm not so sure about this.
But a weekend get-away
to Branson?
Hmm.
That might be ok.
We started the trip off
with an entire day
at Silver Dollar City.
It sounded a little weird
to go to an amusement park
in November, but
WOW!
It was so awesome!
We started with some rides
and such--
a huge swinging bridge
a giant trampoline park,
a trip on the carousel.
We watched glass blowing
and Mom, Dad, Uncle Adam,
Austin and Weston rode a giant
(and I mean GIANT) swing.
We found this little line forming
and found out Santa was at this other end.
That sounded like something
we needed to do!
So we waited patiently in line
in this awesome shop
filled with Christmas trees,
toys, and lights.
And after a bit of a wait,
we got to meet The Big Guy himself.
We all got a chance to talk with him
and take a picture
even if we weren't thrilled.
Epic.
We make a pretty great group.
We rode a few more rides
and then headed to see
A Dicken's Christmas Carole.
A friend of mom's told us
to buy passes to get reserved seats.
Boy were we glad we did!
The line was HUGE.
And the show was AWESOME!
Even Dad was impressed!
After dinner,
we split up into 2 group--
the roller coaster riders
(Dad, Wes, Adam, Austin)
and everyone else.
Now don't let that designation fool you.
Aunt Michelle, Kayla, me, Mom and B
found our way to the kids section
and rode our hearts out!
There were the up and down elephants
the teacups,
and the fastest boats you have EVER been on!
We rode those about 4 times
Grandma and Tucker
cheered us on
Mom talked B and Kayla
into going on this huge pendulum ride
with her.
Everything was fine until halfway through
when Beck decided he didn't want to do it anymore.
There were a lot of screams and cries
for a minute or so.
Mom and Kayla and Michelle and B
paired off for one last ride,
this huge swing that spun in a circle.
A mouse ran across right before it took off
so when it stopped,
Beckett wouldn't get out
and eventually clung to Mom's leg
for all he was worth.
He didn't want his feet to touch the ground
EVER AGAIN.
It was hilarious.
Did I mention there are Christmas lights
on EVERYTHING?
It was beautiful.
The final event of the day
was the Christmas Light Parade.
The Abominable was the Grand Marshall.
Everything was lit up!
The soldiers,
Santa and the Mrs.'s sleigh
Even the candy canes!
It was a huge hit.
Did we have fun?
ABSOLUTELY!!!
This may just be
the best Christmas gift ever.
We are some exhausted boys.
And it is only Day 1...
