--Jack's explanation of Weston's nursing
Jack has been potty trained for some time now, but just in the last few days he has wanted to do it "by myself." I guess he got tired of trying to help Mama and Daddy go and thought doing himself would be more productive (no one pees or poops alone anymore in the Reed house!).
He gets out the potty seat cover, gets his stool, pulls down his pants, sits himself down, and pushes down "Mr. Peeps" so all the pee goes in the right place. He's pretty good at this, but we were a little nervous about pooping alone, since we have always wiped for him. Well, Jack figured that out. We usually have him bend over and touch the floor so we can clean his bottom well (think downward dog in yoga). Imagine Aaron's surprise when he walked in and found Jack in that position, trying to wipe his own bottom. Hilarious. I guess he figured that was the way to do it!
Lately, everything is "gross," as in "chicken is gross" or "milk is gross." However, every once in a while, odd things are gross. For example, this was the conversation at bedtime.
J: You can't go Mama!
M: Why not? It's time for sleep.
J: NO! The doors are gross. They fall apart. You can't go Mama.
Jack, however, is NOT gross. Don't even try. You'll get a resounding "I NOT GROSS!" if you even hint at the idea.
