Two Falls ago,
we did an Arkansas trip
after exploring the Buffalo River
and other parts of the state.
We decided one day in Bentonville
was DEFINITELY not enough
and swore we'd have to come back.
That trip has arrived!
We rented a camper
and hit the road!
This trip was funny--
we'd never repeated things before
but now we have!
We rented the same camper
we took to Michigan
and we stayed at Blowing Springs
just like last time we were in Bentonville.
We love it because it is right on the Greenway--
this really long (over 50 miles??!?) bike path
that connects Bella Vista all the way to Fayetteville.
It winds under highways
and along major roads
and passes some of the best mountain biking
in the country!
Hello, Slaughter Pens!
(that's what this area of green/blue/black trails
and bike parks is called).
We did a bit of single-track riding
and then headed further into town.
Last time we were here was COVID times
so most everything was closed.
We were excited to really check the city out this time.
We hit Crystal Bridges,
a well known art museum.
How about this HUGE spider?
and these floating spheres?
They had some cool exhibits inside--
paintings, sculptures, and this neon exhibit
This one was by far our favorite:
it was a little room filled with glowing spheres
that changed color
surrounded by mirrors.
Only 3 people were allowed at a time
So we had to get 2 rounds of selfies
They had an exhibit about American history.

We got stuck in the museum for a bit--
they are doing some major excavation around it
and we had to "take cover" while they did some
explosive demolition.
It was LOUD!
But eventually we were allowed to head out
and see some more of downtown
We ate at this fun old-school pub
and then headed to the Walmart Museum.
Because how can you visit the birthplace
of Walmart without visiting its museum?
The museum was...ok.
I mean, there's probably not much to expect
at the Walmart museum.
But we were OBSESSED with the bee making exhibit at the end.
You got to design a bee and send it out on the screen.
Why is this at the Walmart museum?
Beats us!
The real highlight of the Walmart museum
is the Spark Cafe--
an old school ice cream shop
with huge scoops for $1.29.
Everyone got chocolate brownie
except for Dad
who tried the F150
(vanilla with white chocolate and red velvet cake).
The brownie was good
but we all decided Dad was the winner.
Sprinkles brings out the goofy.
We rode nearly every green trail we could find.
Dad and the 3 amigos rode fearlessly and fast.
Mom and I stuck together, a bit slower in the back.
But look out Mom--
I think our days of slowly but surely are numbered
because I'm getting pretty bold.
Nearly 20 miles done.
A new Reed Family record.
Not bad for our first day!
