Being newer skiers (5 days total EVER),
We knew we were not experienced enough to enjoy
Jackson Hole skiing.
So Mom and Dad did some research
And we headed for the Wydaho border
To check out Grand Targhee Ski Resort
Mom and I were a bit nervous
And needed to get our ski legs dusted off
So we started with the bunny slope and the magic carpet
After a few times down,
The others talked us into heading up the lift
And giving some bigger runs a try.
They had already tried out a few.
Mom and I got the Shoshone lift tickets—
We were limited to the green bowl only,
But we were just fine with that.
Check out my first long run of the day.
I was zigzagging and pizza-ing like a pro
Mom was pretty proud of her zigging and zagging too
Dad, Jack, Wes and Beck
Put their full lift tickets to use
And headed to the top of the mountain
To the only green outside of the Shoshone bowl
The views they captured were awesome
Gotta love the mountains
But they said that green was actually pretty tough.
Wyoming-greens are more like everywhere-else-blues.
They came back to join us.
These greens are pretty spectacular too.
Family picture at the top
Beck, rocking the look
He skis like a kamikaze
Wes, making it look weird
Also a kamikaze
Mom couldn’t catch Jack.
He was back on the lift as fast as he came down.
We didn’t catch Dad either—
His ski legs couldn’t keep up at times
And he had a few falls today,
Including an epic crash coming off the lift.
Mom was just glad it wasn’t her
(She didn’t have ANY falls today…
She was rather slow though)
Check out my confidence now!
I’ve been doing the trick jumps
In the stunt park all afternoon!
Sadly,
Time flies when you are having so much fun
And before we were ready,
It was time to get off the mountain
One last family picture before we head back to Jackson
A full day of skiing means we need to hit up the hot tub!
And then we headed into town
To check out the pizza place Beau recommended

Skiing and pizza seem to bring out the fun in us
