Happy birthday Pappo!

Nothing says celebration
like 20 pounds of Strouds fried chicken
and some pink pie
with all of your family gathered together!
Happy 72, Pappo!

Holiday Spirit Week

We kicked it off with a bang--
an outfit that embodies the holidays for you.
Ugly Sweaters.
'nuf said.

I got to make an epic gingerbread house
in Art Club

and Tucker made one with his Paw Partner
There was Grinch Day
and Pajama Day
but Mom was most excited for Dress Up Day...
which there is no picture of
because we refused to dress up.
Don't ask.
She's still irritated with us.

Winter Cabin Fun

The cold doesn't stop
a good time at the cabin!

We "helped" with chopping wood
(although pretending to kayak was
obviously way more fun)

We channeled all our energy into a walk

Clearly more fun
with a wagon and The Coop

It was chilly,
but the night called for a fire pit
and a beer

and a hat

Happy hour with games
is always a good time

And how about a
well-earned,
hard-built
teepee?

Coming down here
is always a lot of fun

even when it's cold,
it warms our souls

A Night with the Symphony

You have to be fully vaccinated
to see the KC Symphony.
Well, guess what?
WE belong to that exclusive club!

So we headed to BRGR
(which we have talked about incessantly
since we ate there 2 years ago)
for some burgers and shakes

Mmmm.
Shakes.

Then,
it was off to the Holiday Concert
Don't we clean up good?

We got to sit right behind the percussion section
which was perfect
since I started playing percussion this year.
I was entraced.

We were right next to the choir too.
Maybe they'll inspire Jackson
to try out for Concern Choir in the spring.

It was a good concert.
A new brass arrangement of O Holy Night
was Mom and Dad's favorite of the night.

and another great way
to enjoy some holiday spirit!

Another season, another season

Jack and I are back on the field
for winter ball--
which is pretty sweet
because it's all games, no practice.

The field is netted all the way around
so there's no out-of-bounds
but that makes a good picture tricky too.
Dad nabbed one of me and the team though

And how about the Jackster?
Making soccer look good.

The Lights of Lee's Summit

We needed to make
the annual Christmas lights rounds
and what better night than tonight?

We started out with dinner
at Bella's--
if you haven't been there yet,
you should definitely check it out!

Then,
it was off to the lights.
We hit the Magic Tree

which called for a family selfie

and then an even better family picture

We watched the show at the Water Hole
and the house behind Home Depot
(if you're from Lee's Summit, you know what I mean).

Then we headed back towards our neighborhood
with a stop at the Magic Potty
(which also has a light show this year!)

and then a drive through our neighborhood.
And look what we found:
Probably the best show of the night!
And in OUR neighborhood!
We're going to have to make a few trips over to this one.

Santa in the 'hood

Look who made a surprise visit
at our neighbor's house??

We told him we wanted computers
(which confused Mom and Dad
since we already have school computers)

and Jack asked for a very ironic football

Not sure it was a successful discussion
but it was a successful picture

The Annual PJ Picture

We have a LOT of ornaments

to put on our tree
so that we can get the perfect
picture this year!

We started out a bit slow,
waiting for our brothers to finally join us

We had some ideas about
what would be the perfect pose

Some were just ok

Some took some heavy lifting

Some turned out awkward

Some we thought were pretty funny

even if Jack didn't

Some were a little crooked

Some we were being squished

Some were taken
as Dad mooned us

But some turned out pretty well

Mom says she's buying matching pjs for
our whole family forever,
even when there are 50 of us
(which would be a LOT of grandkids)
so we can take a Christmas pj picture
even when we have our own families.
We thought that sounded pretty cool
(even Jack).

What's Tucker up to?

I'm reading a bunch these days--
I especially like Fly Guy and
Elephant and Piggie.
I had to read with Farley for
my school reading list the month.

I unfortunately had a bunch of cavities
(5?  6?)
so I had 2 appointments to get them filled.
Laughing gas and a movie made it easy to sit through.

Beck has been tutoring me in math.
That's going well.
He's a smart dude.

Wes and I made a helicopter
with the Erector set.
That took some time and patience!

I went on my first slumber party!!!
I may have packed 4 days before the event.

A whole day and night
with my besties Breckin and Sutton??
Yes, please!
As you can see,
I've been pretty busy.
