Summer is better with friends

The Keim's had planned to come into town
for Great Wolf Lodge
and a quick night in Lee's Summit,
but they were having so much fun
(sitting up until 4am "talking"),
they decided to stay an extra day!

So we hit up Poppy's

and tried out the splash park at Miller J

Beck liked it

So did Tucker

Pretty cool

The playground was neat too

After 3 action packed days,
we were so sad to see our friends leave.
The good news?
We're going to Destin with them in the fall...

More surprises

Mom and Dad really get a kick out of surprising us.
Guess where we went this time?

Not so much of a surprise anymore...
You got it,
Great Wolf Lodge!

We're becoming regulars

Although, this time,
that wasn't the surprise.
It was the people joining us
that was the big deal!
Our Tennessee friends!!!
Kaitlyn, Cohen, and Kylie!

We couldn't wait to get in there
and show them all the fun stuff

We climbed the water gym

Cheese!

Tucker was a wild man this time!

A brief pause in the action
for a picture

There was a lot of fun to be had in the kids' pool

Catch me if you can!

We had some breath holding contests

And underwater pics

Our favorite spot
was in the hot tub

Perfect for hanging with your brothers

Sharing a drink

We hit up Dad's favorite Jazz for dinner
and discovered this cool water fountain
during our after dinner walk

There were some shenanigans

Monkey see, monkey do

Nice hair, B!

And after a long day,
we hung out on the patio with our friends
until it was time to hit the sack

Love the bunks

Maybe next year, Tuck

We woke refreshed
and ready to go again!

I braved the obstacle course

It was pretty cool

B practiced his strokes with Mom

And we eventually ended up back in the hot tub.
Keims minus 1

Reeds minus 1

Tucker had about all he could stand

Another fun-filled trip!

A new sport

We are crazy psyched today!!!
And a little giddy!!!

It's our first swim meet!

Our biggest fans came

"Ugh!  Get off me!"

"Ok, since it's for Jack and Wes"

There was a bit of time to kill before
our first events

But then it was time!
25 yard freestyle.
Weston was up first.

Goggles on.
Ready to go.

The competition was steep.
He was up against his friends Mack and Sully.

It started out ok.

But, unfortunately,
Weston was quickly left behind.

He mostly made it to the end
pulling himself along the rope.

On the up-side,
he finished.
Everyone clapped.

I was up next.
I was SO nervous.
Worry is my thing.

I forgot to put on my goggles

but that didn't slow me down!

I finished 2nd in my heat!

My fans were impressed.

My final event was the
100 yard freestyle relay.
They needed a fourth swimmer on the 9-10 year old team.
Somehow, in my first meet ever,
I was the lucky stand in.

I made quick work about it!

Unfortunately,
my team was DQ'd (disqualified)
because swimmer 1 and 2 swam at the same time.
Oops.
At least I did my part!
That was pretty fun!
Let's get ready for week 2!
