A twist on sausage and eggs

These are seriously the greatest plates ever.

Not only did Dad make our favorite eggs,
but he made our favorite eggs into HAIR!

Mealtime will never be the same...

Weston's First Fieldtrip

Usually Mom is the field trip parent.
But she was on-service
and Dad was excited to step-up
to take me on my FIRST FIELDTRIP!!!

We went to the zoo,
but the bus ride was just as great as any of the animals

We checked out the swimming polar bear

And my favorite meerkats

But the train was where the action was really at!
Can't wait 'til the next one!

What's wrong with this picture?

Is it the lack of clothes?
The squished nose?
Flattened ears?
Or the use of power tools in the nude?
At least I'm wearing my safety goggles.

Horsey!

That's what I said:
"Look, Mama!  Ridin' horsey!"
"Neigh!"

7 on a boat

It was such a nice day,
we just had to go out!

We brought our friend Mika and her folks for some fun

After our KFC dinner,
we made sure our "boat coats" were good and tight

blew up our floaties

and JUMPED in!

Pretty nice out here!

Amber thought so too

We paused for a snack with Uncle Mikey

And JUMPED back in again!

Working on my strokes

Dad filled up the live well
for some on-board water fun

We had a really good time...

And I think the Heinz's did too!

Night Flight

Although no one was in quite as good a shape as last year,
everyone headed out for the favorite
Night Flight 5K

Mom said it was really painful,
but the drinks at Stewey's afterward made it all better

Jackism

The picture didn't come out very well,
but you get the gist--
kids having the time of their lives on a water slide

Jack:  I don't know about that picture, Dad.  It wasn't that much fun...

Slippin' and Slidin'

We thought we'd try out the slip 'n slide
Wes got for his birthday

As this was my first time,
I was a bit unsure at first

But after seeing Daddy take a turn...

We were both ready to jump in!

It was fun just to sit in the fountains!

Even Mom took a few turns!

And neighbor Max had to join in too
(I'm actually airborne on this one!)

After a while,
we got tired
So we packed it up for more fun another day

Helpers

Housework is fun
when you can do it with a friend.
In your PJ's/underwear is kinda funny too...

Wood Creek Party People

Our street had the
1st Annual Wood Creek Block Party
today...

I REALLY loved the bounce house!

And test driving all the other kids' cars

But I'm still talking about the bike race...

On your marks,
get set,
GO!

Jack made a nice showing

My friend Ryan and I were a bit slower

I may have been in last

Oh, for Pete's sake!
Pushing may be faster!!!

Cut me some slack!
I am the youngest kid in the race!
(even if it is by 3 days)

We ate, drank,
colored the street with chalk,
had water gun fights,
lost bocce balls down the sewer,
and had even more fun going below to get them back out!

We may have got a car or two stuck in the lawn
It was too much fun not to make an annual event!
We have awesome neighbors!

Celebrating the Mamas and Papas

We had a joint party for
Mother's Day and Father's Day
with Mom's whole family.

Everyone enjoyed some tasty food

and lovely conversation in the shade on this beautiful summer day

We enjoyed the pool!
We may have stripped down to our birthday suits
for a swim,
but Mom promised to keep those pictures to herself
until we're bratty teenagers.
Thanks, Mom.

Fun in Downtown

We look forward to Downtown Days every year.
This year did not disappoint!

Daddy headed down early to help
the neighborhood team in the BBQ contest.
Once we were up from nap,
Mom loaded the van and we were off for adventure!
(Mom was really proud of her parallel parking skills...)

We had some bar-b-que at the Legacy Wood tent,

watched a few trains pass by (2 of them!!!),

and set out with Grandma and Grandpa for some fun!

First, we hit the space shuttle Atlantis replica

The flight simulator was pretty cool,
but I did get a bit scared with all the noise and lights

I recovered quickly, though,
and Wes and I hopped on our first ride of the night

As you can see,
the train was a LOT of fun

Next was the carousel

Then the pony ride

We asked Wes if he wanted to go...
his face lit up and he screamed "YES!"
and nearly jumped off Dad's shoulders

Weston LOVED it!

The next ride Wes was too small to get on
and Grandma was too big to get on.
Everyone was shocked when I shrugged and jumped on by myself
How could I turn down spinning teacups?

We tried our had at some games

Turned out they weren't too tricky

And we won these AWESOME bats

Thanks Grandma!

We finished off the night with a final spinning ride
(Mom loved it!)
then some funnel cake and dancing to the music of the bands.

What a fun night!!!
