Soccer Saturday

The soccer season is winding down,
and we were happy to spend another morning in the sunshine,
hanging with Papa

Working on our dribbling
Next week, the big game...
I think I'm ready

A day with Grandma!

We were so excited today
to stay with Grandma instead of going to preschool!

We played outside,
went to Xtreme Gymnastics,
and ended the day at...

Paradise Park!

Jack was telling me something important...

Nice picture!
(The best part about this picture
is that to take it, Grandma had to climb through
the indoor jungle gym, thru a cargo net,
and thru a couple of tunnels!)

Digging is ALWAYS a good time

If I can do this now,
imagine what I can climb when I'm 3!

And where were Mom and Dad during all of this fun???
St. Joseph Medical Center Doc Appreciation Night
at the K!
Mom's first appreciation event as a practicing doc!
Dad lived it up!

Weston's "Bi' bo' room"

For my 2nd birthday,
Mom, Dad and Jack gave me a digger quilt and curtain
for my soon-to-be-created
Big Boy Room.

It's finally done!

Allow me to give you the tour:

My name was re-vamped with diggers
instead of beach stuff:

Note my new fish tank
from Austin and Kayla!
I'm just like Jack!

(Mom wrapped the bulletin board squares in fabric.
Dad did the cool paint job!)

I LOVE my digger clock!
I'm more than happy.
I'm glowing with pride to show everyone who comes over
all my new diggers!

Jackism

Tonight, Jack came out of the bathroom, holding his boy parts, pulling them almost to his belly button...
Jack:  Dad?  What are these circle things below my penis?
Dad then laughs so hard he's nearly crying.
Finally, after some recovery time...
Dad:  Some people call them "balls" or "nuts."  Those are your testicles.  You have two of them.
Jack:  (reaching down and grabbing them again) Ha!  I DO have two!

Lots of reasons to celebrate

Not only was today Mother's Day,
but is was also a good day to celebrate Mom's birthday
(it's actually Tuesday).

Aunt Mandy also got her Master's this weekend.

But the biggest reason to celebrate?

Grandpa Mike got a new TRACTOR!!!

I climbed right up...

but Weston,
despite his LOVE of tractors,
was a little overwhelmed at seeing one up close

Grandpa gave me a quick tutorial of all the levers and gears

and before you know it,
I was dumping loads like a pro!

Can you see my grin?
It was pretty awesome.

After a while,
Wes got brave enough to load the bucket

but not brave enough to leave Dad's arms when we started to move again

We drove up and down the yard

put the bucket up and down

Weston stayed as protected as possible

Finally it was time to drive it back to the barn

Weston stayed in the house...

Then we ventured over to Grandma and Grandpa's neighbor's house.
She has all sorts of fun stuff to play with

Grandpa directed our cleaning of the house

Dad tried out the rope swing

Mom, Mandy and I balanced the teeter toter

And Grandma stopped in at our restaurant,
the Super Fun Waffle House,
for some double chocolate chip pancakes and syrup.

It was really fun

Then it was time for some REAL
double chocolate chips...
DESSERT!

We sang Happy Birthday to Mom

and of course helped blow out the candles

A couple of rounds on the Micro Machines train
with Aunt Mandy,
and the night was complete
Family time is fun!

Mom's Day

Today was Mother's Day.
However, I was so excited to give Mom her gift,
I couldn't wait until today.
She opened it in the van on Friday after preschool.

It's a handmade bracelet.
I made it myself.
I was so proud.

Today,
we surprised Mom with
pictures to hang in her office
(Wes is on the left,
mine is on the right)

And 2 dozen roses
(in my favorite color--pink)

And a new chain to put her
Mother's necklace on.

We also got pictures taken.
 Pretty special boys
for a pretty special mom.

Soccer week #4

While West and Kayla hung out in the van...

Grandma Janice, Dad and I went through our drills

Some fancy foot work

Get down low to protect the goal

Then we played another game.
I kept up with the team

 I even scored a goal!!!
(unfortunately it was against Austin)

Not long after this,
I took a pretty hard hit and got my ear pulled.
I had to sit out for a minute and regroup.

But guess what?
When I got back in,
I scored ANOTHER goal!

It was a good day for everyone!
