Bubbles instead of snow

The flu hit our house hard this week
(even though we all had our vaccine!)

There was a second huge snowstorm,
dumping 10 inches of snow
perfect for making a snowman or a fort.

But unfortunately,
we were running fevers of 102,
and didn't feel much up for it.

Mom and Dad let us have a huge bubble bath instead,
which to us seemed just as great!

We are two adorable boys...

Then Wes morphed into a weird bubble creature,
and things just went downhill from there.
Here's hoping there is still a bit of snow left
by the time we feel better!

Meet Baby Bucket

The Fetal Health Center
needed a pregnant "model" for some video, ultrasounds, and pictures.
I was happy to step in if it meant seeing #3!

We are suppose to be 29 weeks,
but he has been measuring big since 9 weeks.
Today, he measured 30-31 weeks--3 pounds, 8 ounces.
I like to think our dates are off
since all our others have been small...

A profile

Sooooo cute, right?

But it got better.
They turned on the 3-D...

A foot

And a face...
 Pretty cute, don't you think?

I've seen a lot of 3D images of fetuses,
and not to be biased,
but he's definitely the cutest I've ever seen!

Baby Bucket's room

After a bit of hard work,
John Deere Bucket's room is all ready for him!

Mom and Dad are pretty proud of how it turned out:

Crafts and snow

There was A LOT of snow today.
So much, that Mom AND Dad got to stay home!

We made the most of it
and got out all those crafts we got for Christmas...

We made a potholder

Rolling elephants

Sticker pictures

although the frames were the best part

Super long trains

We had to set up our own
art gallery!

Beautiful,
aren't they?

After nap though,
we were ready to hit the snow!

Jack helped Dad dig out the driveway
with a wheel loader

I was just trying to not get stuck in the 8-10 inches in the yard!

Now THAT'S how you spend a day at home!

Swimming continues

We are really getting into our swim lessons this year!

Weston can go underwater for 3-4 seconds,
I can go under for a whole 17 seconds.

Wes jumps off the side
and is learning to do scoops and kicks.

I'm perfecting my underwater swimming
and backfloat

Tonight,
Grandma and Water Bear came to watch.
We were thrilled to have someone to show our stuff to.
The best part though?
Dairy Queen afterwards!

HIttin' in the road!

There was finally a warm day...
warm enough for me to FINALLY take
my new bike outside for a spin!

Look out...
this summer,
we'll be hard to keep up with!

The CMH experience

Cousin Austin had his tonsils out a few weeks ago
and had a follow-up appointment this morning.

We took this opportunity to show Austin and Mikayla
how AWESOME we think Mom's work is!

We kicked it off with pancakes and dancing to the jutebox
in the cafeteria

The there was a trip to the train room

And to top it off,
we got to climb through
not one, but TWO ambulances!

Bob (the EMT) even let us
get in the front!

The lights were cool,
but we weren't so sure about the sirens!
Mom said next time we'd get to check out the helicopter again
(it was too cold and in the hanger today).

Mom says we works here,
but all we see are things to PLAY with!

Making "Bucket"

We both have one...
Jack's is named Curly,
mine is named Hamilton.
The bears Mom and Dad made us
before we were born,
given our nicknames
when we were in Mom's tummy.

We needed to make our brother one too!

However,
we were terribly distracted by all the really cool animals to choose from,
and ended up getting one for ourselves too.

I patiently waited for John Deere
(what I call the baby)
to be stuffed

Then we gave John Deere
and Leo (what Jack calls the baby) a bath

We were pretty proud of our purchases.
And don't worry,
"Bucket" is inside the box,
ready for our baby brother.

A bowling "date"

When Mom and Dad went to MU to see the Tigers,
Grandma took us bowling.

And we've been asking to go back
every day since!

Tonight we convinced Mom and Dad that
we should go on a "date"
with Mika and her parents to the bowling alley.

So after a tasty Johnny Ray's corndog,
we headed to the alley...

Dad helped Wes line it all up,

but I was a pro all by myself.

The bowling was great...
but the orange drinks were a close second!

(And don't mind Weston's outfit--
it was PJ Day at school)

Swimming in the winter

For something different,
Mom signed us up for swim lessons inside this go 'round.

We LOVE it!!!

Each class starts with a safety discussion

Then we hit the pool!

Weston is working on putting his face in the water
(hence the strange look on his face)

and floating

and his favorite part,
racing into the water to pick up a ball from the bottom of the pool

I'm working on my stroke and kicks,
bobbing, holding my breath for a long time underwater,
and floating by myself

I REALLY love it!

Our favorite part?
Relaxing in the hot tub afterwards!

M-I-Z!

While we spent some quality time
with Grandma Phyllis and Papa Kim,
Mom and Dad headed to Columbia
for some Mizzou basketball

The boys were all there...
Water Bear, Ken, and Dad

And the girls,
Marcia, Grandma Janice, and Mom

After the game,
there was lots of eating--
CJ's wings and Shakespears' Pizza
The best part?
A toss-up between the MU win
and the KU loss...
