Weston’s driving debut

The entire Drive Team graduated last year

Leaving a big hole on the Broncobots Team.

Weston has been working hard to step into those big shoes.

This weekend was their first off-season competition 

To see how the new drives will fare.

The headed to St. Louis

To put Shiloh and Weston to the test

Weston did a pretty great job

As did Shiloh

Bringing home the win

With an undefeated record!

Could be an exciting season!

 

Another big game

The last regular season game

Was another opportunity for Tucker to strut his stuff

2 more touchdowns under his belt!

 

Let’s Race!

As a family, we haven’t been running much

(Except for Dad)

So the expectations for this year’s Race for the Future were low…

Until we ran into some running friends

While Beckett planned to try to keep up with Cooper

(Who is a heck of a cross country runner)

The rest of us decided we’d do our own thing

And meet up at the end.

Beckett ended up losing Cooper

(Who got a PR, 2nd in his age group and 8th overall)

But pulled in a great time at

23:39, 13th in his age group and 44th overall. 

Tucker was proud that he ran the entire time this year

(Compared to his usual sprint intervals)

And came in at 24:40, 

21st in his age group (there are apparently a lot of fast 10-14 year olds)

And 73rd overall.

Mom has been lifting and not running

But was pleased with her time of 27:20, 

11th in her age group

And 124th overall.

Who took all these pictures, you ask?

Dad.

Who has been training for his upcoming half-marathon.

He pulled in a new PR of 22:56,

SECOND in his age group

(The 1st place guy won the whole thing)

And 30th overall.

We had to get a picture of the medalist—

Cooper, his mom and Dad

Way to go, fam!

We found more friends to chill with after the race

Not a bad way to start off your Saturday!

 

Happy 47, Dad!

We got him some pumpkin beer

And a new pair of running shoes

For his upcoming half-marathon

Jack got him a BBQ mystery bag

From his field trip today

And we topped it off with

Carrot cake from Jack Stack

(Weston was out on assignment,

Filming a movie for class)

Last game of the Bison season

Beck has really enjoyed his first year

On the Bison football team.

He’s been a consistent starting running back on C team.

It’s fun to see number 27 on the field. 

He’s done a nice job on special teams too

It’s been a good year—

Can’t wait to see if he can pull up to A or B team

Next year!

 

A New Patch

We love Carolyn’s pumpkin patch

But we’ve been trying to branch out a bit the last few years.

This year,

Mom suggested we try Johnson’s Farm…

And it is our new favorite!

There was a huge barn of inflatables—

Not just obstacle courses

But some really cool games

There were water pump duck races

And a small but beautiful sunflower field

Mom has always wanted a family picture

In a sunflower field!

Then it was time to search for our family blumpkin 

Weston wanted to help Dad

Pull it off the vine

Ta-da!

It’s it magnificent?

They had TONS of the largest,

Fullest, most colorful mums we’d ever seen—

Too bad we have 4 baskets at home already

Mom and Wes tried out the unicorns

While B rode the bee

There were all sorts of games,

A massive balloon station,

And an ENORMOUS jump pillow

We rode the hayride

Out to the apple orchard and veggie garden

An apple slushee and a fresh apple?

Yes, please!

We decided the best apples were up at the top

And it quickly became a team effort to get them down

We may have overfilled our bag

We ran out of time to work through the corn maze

But we had to at least step into the

Travis and Taylor themed event!

We left with a ton of cool pumpkins and gourds,

Lots of apples,

Pumpkin and apple donuts for tomorrow,

And a plan to come back next year

We decided we’d even make Jackson come home for it.

Something for everyone: a weekend montage

It started out with a North football game

And a great band performance

Even if we had to watch the Broncos

Get their 2nd loss of the season.

Jackson was off swimming in the CoMo Invitational,

Hanging on the Varsity squad

Looks like they had a good time

Tucker had another awesome game

And served as captain for the team 

Meanwhile,

Weston was competing at a band competition

Probably their best performance of the year so far

While he was finishing that up.

The 5 of us tried out Craft Putt

The golf was fun

But our favorite part was probably the shuffle-golf

(Think shuffleboard with putters and golf balls)

It’s always fun when we are running a billion directions

To meet back up and hang out.

The Last Walk to School Day

Another “last” has come—

The Annual Walk To School Day.

It used to be a huge fiasco

With all 6 of us 

And 4 Heinz’s,

Often with strollers and musical instruments 

And maybe a dog or two.

But now,

there’s more parents than kids

And we’re pretty quick and efficient

Definitely an annual event for the memory book!
