Back in their flags

Spring flag football kicked off this weekend!

Kind of a strange season—

Both Beck and Tuck are on new teams

Since Beckett played tackle in the fall

And Tucker’s team doesn’t play spring ball.

Even so,

It was fun to be back on the field!

Beck had some nice moves

And Tucker got to put his speed to good use

Nice to see Cheat Code in action again!

Here’s to a good season!

Broncobots’ Quest for Worlds

The Broncobots, after going to Worlds a few years in a row,

Were REALLY disappointed not to qualify last year.

They chose 2 competitions this year

And put in a LOT of work on the robot.

The lost the first competition

Leaving it all on this one—GKC.

And THIS is their weekend!

They were undefeated in the qualifying rounds,

Landing as the number 1 seed,

Making them the number 1 alliance.

They blew everyone out of the water

In the elimination rounds.

So it all comes down to this…

the FINALS!

Weston is in his element on Drive Team,

Helping set up the driver

And then moving over to his spot as the Human Player

Jackson is in his element too,

Giving Impact his all

And then taking over the media

Let’s GOOOOO!

And go they did…

They won the first round by about 60 points,

But the other team was down one robot.

The second round?

RED ALLIANCE WINS!

they DOMINATED!

With a new HIGH SCORE

Which means…

HELLO, WORLDS!

But guess what?

Then they won

Innovation in Engineering

Which ALSO qualifies them for WORLDS!

That’s right—

It’s a DOUBLE qualification!

Add on Jackson’s Dean’s List win from the last competition—

That’s a TRIPLE for Jackson!

Tucker’s Birthday Fun

The theme of birthday gifts this year

Is experiences

And what better experience for our basketball loving Tuck

Than a Harlem Globetrotters game?

We had really good seats!

Tucker got to bring a friend—

a fellow basketball lover, Noah, came along.

The show/game was really fun…

So fun, they needed autographs from all the players

Speedy was a favorite;

Thunder too.

Definitely a memorable afternoon!

 

Birthday season begins!

With our crazy schedule this year,

Birthday parties are happening in no particular order.

Today may be Weston’s 15th birthday,

But it is also Beckett’s 12th birthday party!

We tried out Activate,

This awesome game zone

Where you compete against time in teams

To complete a challenge.

It was really fun—

A definite return venue!

All that running worked up some thirst…

Then it was back to the house

For some glow-in-the-dark frisbee

And some ice cream cake with the boys

Happy 12th bday party, Beck!

A successful MSSL champs

After 4 short weeks,

The middle school swim league champs are here.

Beckett made the A team medley relay team

For the breaststroke

…And they took second!

He also swam in the top 16 for 50 free—

He landed in 16th with a time of 33.19s.

Not a new PR but

Not bad for a 6th grader and one of two 11 year olds in the top 16!

He also swam 50 breaststroke—

He came in 2nd with a time of 40.36s,

A new PR by 0.1s!

Two 2nd place medals as a 6th grader???

AND ETMS won the MSSL cup?

Can’t wait to see what 8th grade will look like!

 

All business for Mom

Mom had her annual APPD conference 

(The meeting for all the pediatric program directors)

In Atlanta this week

So she had to watch a lot of the events from afar.

There was plenty of work done

But she managed to have a beer or two 

With Ross the Boss

And her other program director friends as well.

Always good when you like who you work with!

Tennis, anyone?

Weston joined the high school tennis team

For his spring sport

(One of his goals is to be on the Senior Triple Sport wall

In the commons at LSN).

He’s middle of the C team

Trying to work his way up the ladder

Another new sport

For the fam fans to figure out!

All the March Birthdays

A fish fry and all the desserts

Is the way we celebrate birthdays

With the Woods family.

I chose milkshakes for my dessert

Christmas in March

For Christmas this year,

Adam and Michelle got Mom and Dad

Tickets on the Barley Bus—

A brewery and distillery tour around town.

Their first stop was Border Brewery—

It was a nice place to start.

A good selection per Mom and Dad

Then it was off to River Bluff in the River Market.

Not quite as good,

But still worth the trip

The final stop was everyone’s favorite—

Restless Spirits.

They had a gin margarita

(Weird, right?)

That was so good,

Mom bought a bottle of gin.

The day was too early to come home,

So they found a shuffleboard spot

And drank like old people

Waaaaay better than something off Amazon!

I see a new Christmas gift tradition starting…

 

Another round in the pool

Meet 3 of 4 is tonight—

And Beck is in the zone

He made the A relay team with his wicked fast breaststroke—

They took 2nd!

He chose to swim 50 back tonight

It looked good,

But no PR, adding a few seconds to his time.

He took 5th though!

And his favorite,

The 50 breaststroke

Again, no PR, adding 0.38s

But he easily took 1st.

Champs next week!

Can’t wait to see some PRs!

 

A politician in the making

Jackson’s bill from Youth in Government is gaining some steam!

Not only did he get the certificate from the State House,

He was recognized for the LSP7 school board

For Excellence in Advocacy

Now if it could just get heard by the House…

 

Some early birthday fun

This year for birthdays,

We thought we’d have some adventures

Instead of gifts.

Jackson’s trip to K1 racing was so fun,

We thought we’d keep it going.

Weston chose Top Golf

It was a lovely day to go!

It’s been a while since all 6 of us

Got to hang out!

And guess what he chose for his birthday dinner?

No surprise there!
