A waaaaay overdue trip to the Cabin

 When were we last down?

April?  May??!?!  Sheesh.
There was a lot of work to be done
to get the Cabin back in shape--
mowing, pulling weeds, spraying weeds,
moving furniture, cleaning...
but it looks good now!

We put up all our toys
including our slackfline
No hands!

We couldn't do the cool trampoline-like tricks
that they did on the cruise,
but we had a good time having chicken fights and races

It was hot
but that didn't stop us from having a bonfire
(we had a lot of junk to burn!)

Ranger was sure living his best life

and so was Tucker

We spent a lot of time on the front porch
playing games--
we found a new love of Chinese checkers
and Beck and I played a lot of chess

There were some heated games of cornhole too

But what we were REALLY excited about...
lake time.
Obligatory annual tubing picture

We're just a little bigger over the last 3 years

We could ride this thing all day
if Dad would drive us

and we sure love to taunt him
when he's not driving crazy enough
(we forget he can throw us off
whenever he wants and he's LETTING us
stay on...)

We did some swimming

and a lot of chilling

Ranger loves to be
with his pack

and we're a good pack

I did some kneeboarding

as did Mom

and Tuck
(he's getting brave back there!)

but Beck was the kneeboarding star
 this week

He really hit his stride

and chased the wake

Mom and Dad had a good time watching us
(see Tuck back there?)

Dad tried out the wakeboard
Uncle Adam gave him...
until he inevitably bit it, got a headache
and didn't wakeboard anymore.
It happens every time.

And, of course, we surfed

Beck and I tried
and got up briefly

Jack caught a couple of waves
and really surfed for a few seconds

and Dad really made surfing ropeless look good

We had great weather
and great water

Beck did some driving

and Dad let me really take it for a spin--
I was throwing some turns
and jumping some waves

There was a little pantless swimming too
(you don't want to know what I'm really doing)

Our belated 4th of July trip to the lake was great.
It was an awesome week

where we caught up on some sleep

and caught up on our lake time.
We'll try not to stay away so long next time

Living up the Fourth

Mom was actually off July 4th

so we headed to Summit Waves for the day.

It was awesome!
It wasn't busy
so we rode tons of slides,
tried all the pools,
and swam until we couldn't swim anymore.

Our neighbor Brad apparently
LOVES 4th of July
and set off every single firework available.
He had to of spent $4000, no exaggeration.
There were so many,
we were actually starting to wonder
when it would be over.

We bought a few of our own,
on a smaller scale.

Smaller didn't mean less entertaining.
We did some artillery shells,
melted some bottles
and blew up some cans

It was a good holiday.

A Fourth at home doesn't mean a Fourth less fun

Mom had to work this 4th of July
but that didn't mean we didn't have a whole lot of fun

Our friends the Welchs invited us
to a party at their house.
We had plenty of fireworks

and snow cones

Safety goggles optional

All the kids

The Dads

and the Moms

A huge perk of the Welchs
is that their house backs up to Legacy Park...
and tonight is Legacy Blast!
Can you read the "USA" in the fireworks?

It was a great show

with more of our fireworks
and sparklers
for a finale

It was a fun night!
